Here comes the DVD of Episode One. All the mighty Nimrod has to say is "All is going as I have foreseen". I knew when King George said that there would be NO DVDs UNTIL ALL THE FILMS ARE DONE that he was indeed LYING! I believe that Lucas has had this plan in mind since DAY ONE! I knew the day Lucasfilm said that there would only be a VHS version of the film released that it was B.S.; I mean, why not sell the same film to the same people twice in less than two years. Lucas knew he could sell us the VHS by claiming that there would not be a DVD. Then all of the sudden BOOM less than a year away from Episode Two, TPM on DVD. The same film he said would not be on DVD until 2006. You can not blame them... I mean, I would take us for all the $$ I could get as well. It is the American way! Not only does this get your money twice, it keeps the Star Wars name in the press. The press release today, eleven months before EP2 (this is big news, I have seen it on TV and heard it on the radio). A quick reminder that SW is out there are more is coming. Then in October, the DVD release will be big news, followed by the trailer in November (please LFL, please include the trailer on the DVD... what a rad Easter egg that would be). After the big trailer news will come the TPM TV broadcast in late November or December. A few months will pass when we finally get to March and the next trailer afterwards a bombardment of events will happen in April and May leading up to the release. Toy sales, TV spots, and EXPANSIVE TV coverage that never really tells you anything other than Ewan liked his robes. After all this THE RELEASE OF THE FILM! (and from the stuff I know about this film IT WILL RAWK). I, personally, am looking forward to every second of it. I am part of the Star Wars generation and ALL IS RIGHT IN THE WORLD when Star Wars is around. This is a great time to be a fan. The DVD is coming, so what if they lied and took my $$ twice. As a SW fan I hand my $$ over happily, taking my gouging with dignity. I will say this... I bet EP2 gets released on DVD the same day (or within a month) that it comes out on VHS.
