Droids Custom 8D8: On sale Wednesday!

I'm happy to report I completed construction of my run of Droids Custom 8D8 figures over the weekend. How it started? Well, I finished the art:

I'm pretty happy with how that turned out. I'm never 100% happy, but I think it works. So with finished art ready, I dropped it onto a template for my first position and toning reviews.

The art was too dark, so I needed to lighted it up. Along with that, I updated the nametag and chose a different bubble background color.

It was obvious I needed to match Chopper's dome. It's the only real color in the whole piece, and that made it pop. But I wasn't entirely happy. Something was lacking. Energy. So I decided, maybe this would work better if the characters were larger. I gave that a shot.

And that was the solution. A few more minor adjustments, and I had my finished front:

Next I checked what it looked like with the figure and coin in place:

With that all final, I next needed to update the back of the card with 8D8's photo and bio:

All of that was finished Friday evening. On Saturday, I printed the 20 pages of fronts and 20 pages of backs on my laser printer, and glued them to comic book backers:

I ended up watching Season 2 of the Netflix Daredevil series as I built these, trying to catch up ahead of the Born Again premiere on March 4th. I was done attaching the bubbles with one episode to go.

Now the figures are ready to go up for sale! Here's how that's gonna work. Wednesday morning around 9:30am Eastern (NYC time) I'm gonna post ordering instructions right here on CreatureCantina.com.
