Droids Custom FX-7: Finished Inks!

My next custom keeps progressing nicely. On Saturday I inked my FX-7 art in two sessions.

These late winter weekends where I have nothing to do are perfect to get a lot done, apparently. With the characters inked, I moved on to backgrounds.

And that's it. Inks done! And I inked this one quite quickly. The background is based off a scene from the Droids cartoon, which was pretty basic, so I didn't have a lot of stuff to draw. But I like how it's all composed so I'm glad I went this way. Next week hopefully I'll have some colors to share!

Another thing I accomplished over the past several weeks was casting all the coins I need for my current supply of bubbles. In addition to FX-7, that supply includes 8D8, Dengar, Klaatu Skiff, Nein Nunb, Weequay, Death Star Droid, and General Madine. Take away the metal coins I was gifted by Mark Huber, and that was close to 140 coins I needed to cast, by hand, a batch of 4 or 6 at a time. And each batch takes close to 15 minutes to harden. It's quite tedious. But now it's done! I won't need to cast another coin for like 2 and a half years at my current custom production clip.

So all good news this past week. We'll see how far I get in coloring by next Wednesday.
