Droids Custom TIE Pilot: Catastrophe averted!

Last week I showed off the final colors for my Droids Custom TIE Pilot. Turns out I was wrong, and I nearly made a huge, huge error...

Anybody notice the error? Something, maybe, missing?

I'll spill the beans... I forgot the Imperial Cogs!! Here's what went down... in my original art, I only drew placeholder circles where the cogs would eventually be. They're just too complex for me to draw freehand at that scale.

I deleted them from the black lines layer, intending to paste them in later. Then I forgot to do it. It was only late last week when I thought to myself "I should really sort through my TIE Pilot action figures to pick out the ones with the best helmet cogs" that I realized I'd forgotten. So I'm happy, and lucky, to present my actual final colors!

I would have been haunted for life if I'd forgotten to add them before I put the figures together.

Speaking of putting the figures together, I dropped the art onto my template to see how the layout works:

Not too bad! I made a few tweaks... shifted the figure background to accommodate the wider bubble, changed the color, and made the character a bit darker. All improvements.

Checked how it'll look with the figure against a red background:

And I like it... but I don't LOVE it. So I started playing around with it, and tried something crazy. What if I made the main character bigger?

I think I like it more. I mean, I lose a ton of the work I did on the TIE Fighter and A-Wing, but the character is more centered and Kez doesn't get half his face chopped off. Here's what it'd look like with the figure:

So what do you think, guys? Is bigger better? Or is smaller baller? Or maybe somewhere in-between? I'll ask for feedback on the FB posts.
