***CAUTION: MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS DEEPENDING ON HOW MUCH YOU'VE ALREADY SEEN/HEARD ONLINE***

I watched the "Lego Star Wars Holiday Special" on Tuesday and thought it was cute and entertaining. It was nice to see Rey, Finn, Poe, and the gang off on another adventure albeit this time, in Lego form. However, the original Holiday Special, which aired 42 years ago, for all its faults, cast Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, and James Earl Jones in their original roles. Here, we only had Anthony Daniels, Billy Dee Williams, and Kelly Marie Tran from the feature films, and Dee Bradley Baker, James Arnold Taylor, Tom Kane, and Matt Lanter from the animated series. (As of writing this, IMDB doesn't even list who voiced Poe and Finn.) I wish they could have gotten Daisy, Oscar, Adam, and John back for this, as not hearing their signature voices was somewhat of a distraction for me.

The original Holiday Special also gave us something old and something new, in that it introduced us to Boba Fett, a character we would not see on the big screen until a year and a half later. This Special did give us the Mandalorian, the Child, and IG-11 (VERY briefly. After watching their scene, my first reaction was "THAT'S IT???") and yet I caught no mention at all of Qi'ra, Enfys Nest, Jyn, and the rest of the "Rogue One" gang. I was also hoping to see or get some mention of Batuu &/or Hondo, but those didn't happen either and if they did, I completely missed them.

Using the same rating scale I have in the past, where: ***** = Excellent, **** = Very Good, *** = Good, ** = Fair, and * = Poor, I give it *** stars. It was Good, but it left me wanting more. One thing it did have going for it was that coming in at 47 minutes, it was longer than chapters 10 & 11 of "The Mandalorian".

This is something I could watch again, but not again, and again, and again, and again, and…etc… like I do the films or other animated SW series. I may reserve this for holiday viewing only. (But considering that my favorite holiday film is "KRAMPUS", that may not say much about my yuletide traditions.)
