Last Friday The Mandalorian actor Dominic Pace came to Pittsburgh, specifically the Curio Cool shop in Zelienople. Curio Cool is run by Jason Shorr, who is a member of PSWCS and who I see fairly often at local toy shows and Star Wars events. Given the proximity to my house, the friend collector connection, and Danno's 30-odd articles urging people to attend, I knew I had to show up to this one.

It was great meeting Dominic. He was super nice. He immediately recognized CreatureCantina.com and was just in awe that Danno has a tattoo of his character. He said "I better not show up on TMZ now or that guy's gonna be in real trouble!"

I was shocked to discover that I haven't added a new CreatureCantina.com SUCKS! photo in nearly seven years!! That's because of changes in the convention industry, sadly. Used to be, you could walk up to a celebrity, pay for an autograph, and ask for a photo. Sometimes you could even just walk up to them if they weren't busy and they were happy to pose, autograph or no! Now you can't even get into the signing area without a ticket, and if you want a photo you gotta book one of the professional ones and pay $100 and even then they won't allow the celebs to hold up a sign. It's a darn shame. So much for fun, right?

I met a couple of my PSWCS buddies at Curio Cool, and we grabbed some food after. Curio handled things really well, with everyone masked and practicing social distancing. And the Starkiller Garrison (of which I'm a member) sent an impressive squad of troopers to support the event. A great time was had by all!

I didn't get an autograph. I don't collect autographs, so they'd just end up in a folder someplace. But I did want to support Mr. Pace, so I grabbed a set of his challenge coins, which are quite nice.

I don't collect challenge coins either (excepting PSWCS.org and Starkiller Garrison coins). But I do have a few of them, so they're a better buy for me. Anyway, it was great fun and Jason said the event was very successful.
