Uncertain, The Future Is.... Posted by: Ric Nimrod 11-20-02 12:01am Ya know... it's kinda funny the way things change and how Star Wars still always seems to parallel life, no matter what part of your life it is. Just like Anakin in TPM & AOTC as well as Luke in ANH & ESB, I find myself at a crossroads... a turning point in life when everything seems to be happening at once. My wife gave birth to our first born child 3 weeks ago and we are BROKE (Mara Nimrod born 10-25-02), I am working over-nights at a rock radio station (start plug*Rock 107 Canton Oh, air-name is Marv Ellis*end plug) and find myself bonding and having strong feelings of comradery with a fairly new group of friends... a group of friends that are destined to fraction off into different places as we all stand at the threshold of success and achieving goals. I find myself with the possibility of 3 different career opportunities, each one better than the last... yet it is possible that in a year from now I could still be doing the sh*t-shift at this low market radio station. Just like Luke, I feel as if I stay one more season... you know, just until the next harvest, it might suck the life out of me. Just like Anakin I feel strong conflicting emotions of love, life, friends, family, independence, loyalty and betrayal. In two months I could be in a different career as a promotions man, I could be the host of a morning show in Michigan, I could be a side kick for a morning show in Akron or I could be right where I am... smoking weed and watching MSNBC in between drunken phone calls from Mullet-Headed Crue fans in Canton Ohio. Uncertain the future is, the dark side clouds EVERYTHING! BUT ENUFF ABOUT ME! Lets talk Star Wars... It was an HONOR to be the focus of a Creature Cantina Comic, I am sorry about the delay and promise I won't be away that long again. How about that DVD? I have a few things to say about it. First off, it is great... the film, the transfer, the whole damn thing RAWKS! But for the life of me I don't understand why some deleted scenes are cut and other crap left in. EXAMPLE A: TPM Deleted scene were Qui-Gon and Anakin see the probe droid, chop it in half and start to run to the ship. EXAMPLE B:AOTC deleted scene with Padme addressing the senate... this scene is well acted and helps the story but it gets cut... while Anakins wet dream remains. King George need a few people who will question his decisions rather than a group of yes men. This IMAX film is a debacle. I have not yet seen it but I am going to go soon... but why such a hassle, why so soon after the main theatrical release, WHY can't it be at all or MOST IMAX theater rather... with better planning this could have been bigger with far LESS in the disappointed fan category. LucasFilm DROPPED THE BALL! If this Clone Wars cartoon happens I will be the happiest geek in the world.... for at least 30 minutes a week. I am sick of typing so chew on these thoughts and I will catch you dorks next time, NIMROD
