10 Things the MIGHTY NIMROD
Loves About Attack of the Clones

10- Jango Vs. Obi-Wan - From the first
meeting on Kamino to their dog-fight approaching Geonisis, these
two bad-asses GO AT IT! It is only a shame that Obi-Wan didn't
have the honor of killing Jango... but his death brings us to
number 9 on my list.
9- Decapitations - 3 beheadings in one
film (2 Tusken Raiders and Jango)... all I can say is YARRRRR!!!
Star Wars needed a few beheadings, how did we ever live without
them. And that brings me to #8
8- Lightsabers - Lightsabers have always
been a trademark of Star Wars and Clones does not disappoint.
From the moment Obi-Wan chops off the arm of Zam Wessel to the
moment Yoda takes on Dooku, the lightsaber use in this film is
better than we have ever seen before. And speaking of Yoda that
takes me to #7 on this list.
7- Yoda the field general - Watching our
little green Jedi master barking orders to clones and commanding
an army during the most intense battle scene we have seen in
a Star Wars movie was beyond cool. He is everything I thought
he would be and more. He is THE Jedi, and that reminds me of
ol' #6 in my love letter to AOTC.
6- "Die Jedi Dogs" - Every time
I hear 3PO say this it makes me laff. It is great, people have
bitched about his antics in this movie... but in this Nimrods
opinion, he is PURE STAR WARS and this line is the best of the
best. The arena scene is so packed with action that 3PO eases
the tension of the fight. And what a fight it turns out to be...
(sounds like a cue to go into #5)
5- Padme' the SURE SHOT - I always thought
that this woman was a great shot, I mean in TPM she makes some
damn impressive shot against the evil ol' Droids... but in this
new movie the sexy little thing holds her own fighting alongside
the Jedi while baring her belly! She is AWESOME. Leia was good,
but this gal is the best. She shoots like Clint Eastwood. And
while she might not be as tuff as some of the Jedi, she does
make it through the battle, which is more than I can say for
most of the Jedi there. That must mean I have a solid #4 coming
up here...
4- Jango kills a Jedi - Jango shoots the
Shark-Head looking Jedi. Shark-Head Jedi falls over the balcony
down to his death. Jango twirls his gun and puts the gun back
into its holster old west style. KEWL!!! And speaking of kewl,
take a look at #3
3- George Lucas the DIRECTOR - While he
might never get an academy award winning performance from Oscar
caliber actors, the man directed his ass of in Clones. Look at
the camera moves and "documentary" style camera angles
in the ground battle scene. Or the circular camera moves as Dooku
tries to temps Obi. King George moves his camera in truly artistic
fashion... and I, for one, am thrilled by it. Thrilled rhymes
with CHILLED and that is exactly what #2 gave me... the chills.
2- Anakin's Flashes of Evil - Not just
the slaying of an entire tribe of Tuskins, but his general impatience
and short fuse. Like his turn of emotions during the interrogation
of Zam and his insistence of being in charge on Naboo... THE
LITTLE HINTS of the Imperial March revealed during his temper
tantrums. I love to watch this bastard turn to the dark side.
I love to watch it unfold. That takes us to #1
1- Star Wars: Episode II: Attack of the
Clones is STILL IN THEATERS! - You can still go and watch this
fantastic piece of the Star Wars puzzle on the big screen. When
there is a Star Wars movie showing at the local theater... ALL
IS RIGHT IN THE WORLD!
So what are you geeks waiting for, GO SEE
IT AGAIN
