Sometimes Dreams Do Come True Posted by: Ric Nimrod 9-12-01 12:01am Well, I waited a few weeks to get back to the column, partly because of the tragedy and partly because I am taking 15 credit hours of school and now working 3 jobs. Oh yeah, and I am getting married in 2 weeks. So, as you can see... the Nimrod is busy. I am now working 3 jobs because an old friend offered me a dream job of interning during a local morning show. The Nimrod is a RADIO MAN!!! This is what I do, this is what I love SO it was an opportunity I could not pass up and it looks like Nimrod will be picked up as part of the team soon. I am on the air every day from 6-10 M-F in Akron Ohio on 97.5 WONE and my on-air name is Marvelous Marv Ellis. As I have said in the past, my wedding is this year. As a matter of fact it is 2 weeks away. I have loved this woman everyday of the last eight years and will love her the rest of my life. This would be enough to claim that dreams come true BUT for further proof, she has allowed be to book a singing midget and an organ grinder and monkey for the reception (not to mention a healthy dose of Star Wars music) AND THIS is indeed a dream come true. The perfect woman as my bride and monkeys, midgets, Star Wars, friends and family will make this DREAM COME TRUE! I in no way wish to make light of the tragedy our nation saw on 9-11-01, if you saw my last column you know I was in tears over this horrible act HOWEVER I am thankful that the terrorists did not mess with Skywalker Ranch. You see another of my dreams is to see the WHOLE story and with Episode Two: Attack of the Clones to be released in May, we can hardly afford any set backs now. This film will rock and in another 3 years my dream of seeing the WHOLE story will be fulfilled. Yes, sometimes dreams do come true... Now, if only the wet dreams would come true more often, Nimrod
