Spoilers Ahoy!

We are going to need a bigger boat!
This is a SPOILER FREE commentary.
The fever has hit... I am at the point now that I CAN NOT WAIT
to see the newest film in our beloved saga. This fever is so
bad that EVERY morning I log on for the newest info, ANYTHING
Star Wars will do. A few words from an EP2 extra, info on the
cameras, when the trailer will be out, and on the rare delightful
day... smuggled footage or story boards. Yes my loyal nimrodians,
I have got the fever.
Just last night I was outside a Toy-R-Us,
shaking from withdrawals, asking every geek I saw if he/she had
any info on EP2 that would get me through the night. Has Williams
started scoring the music, will Mace Windu have a more important
role, HOW ARE THE DIGITAL CAMERAS WORKING OUT? ANYTHING, god,
please help me I need a fix!
So my fever has brought me into contact
with most of the plot points and a basic outline of the film,
and I am thrilled. I went into that midnight showing in May of
1999 with almost COMPLETE knowledge of the film and what would
happen and I ENJOYED THE HELL out of it! I have met many that
do not wish to know a thing about the new film. These are the
same folks who went into EP1 blind and HATED it. Spoilers are
our friend! REMEMBER I SAID THAT!
Why do you say such foolishness oh mighty
nimrod?
Well, I will tell you. Despite King George trying to keep a lid
on his sacred story, if you go into the film with a strong knowledge
of the material, then you are LESS likely to be disappointed
with it. I WAITED 16 FRIGGIN' YEARS for a new Star Wars film
and dammit, I wanted to know as much as possible as soon as possible.
If I could read the WHOLE saga right now it would not stop me
from seeing the films at least 10 times each in the theater.
Is it any different then Fight Club or Hannibal? I mean, both
of those films where published as books LONG before the films
where made, did that stop you from going to see them? The knowledge
of what is to come, IMO, actually HELPS the film. If you know
what is coming, then YOU CAN NOT BE DISAPPOINTED BY IT.
Spoilers are also great in whetting the
appetite. I can not wait to see some of the things I am aware
of on the screen and also see what does not make it into the
film. EXAMPLE: there was to be a scene in EP1 with young Anni
telling Padme that they would one day get married. I hated this,
hated the thought of it in the film and guess what... IT WAS
NOT IN THE FILM. I was also really stoked to see R2 use his rockets
after he falls off the platform on Corescent, BUT the scene was
cut. On the other hand, I could not wait to see Watto or the
pod race or the saber conflicts with Maul and THEY ALL DELIVERED!
It will not matter if Lucas decides to
make a film where Jar Jar has wacky hi-jinx with Wicket during
a scene where Greedo shoots point blank at everyone in the room,
but somehow manages to miss them all while Sy Snoodles rips into
a version of "Jedi Rocks" in the background! WE WILL
STILL GO TO SEE THE MOVIE. Why? The same reason we watched the
Holiday Special, the Ewok movies, the Droids cartoons and ANY
OTHER STAR WARS STUFF RELEASED FOR OUR VIEWING PLEASURE! However,
if we know we are about to see Star Wars: Episode 2: Jar Jar
and Wicket Rock the Jedi's in a Rodain Shootout, well then we
are not as prone to be let down NOW ARE WE?
If you could have known what would happen
in ROTJ immediately after seeing ESB wouldn't you have read it?
Come on... you know you would have. My brain was fried after
seeing ESB and I wanted to know what happened to Han ASAP! (I
will refrain from telling you if Solo is rescued or not so as
not to ruin ROTJ for the spoiler cautious people ;-)
If you are avoiding spoilers, please e-mail
me and tell me why. I would like to know if you had read spoilers
for EP1, and if not, what you thought of it. I want to know.

My advice to the folks out there that are
avoiding spoilers is this: RUSH TO EVERY SINGLE PLACE ON THE
NET THAT THERE ARE SPOILERS AND READ THEM NOW! The info on this
film is really awesome, and you will be filled with the rush
of excitement you had as a child. The film is a little less then
a year away, it will go by MUCH faster if you let yourself see
some of what is in store for you. Let the fever take you away.
My name is Ric Nimrod and I am addicted
to Star Wars spoilers.
