BEGIN TRANSMISSION:
Wa tetu dat uta, gang! Got another couple of questions
answered from the Hasbro High-Ups, and Mandalorian buffs and
Rogue Squadron fans should definitely pay attention to this weeks
batch!
CreatureCantina.com: This is a two-parter.
Its obvious that some, if not all, of you Hasbro folks
are reading and enjoying the Republic Commando novels
by Karen Traviss, in that weve now got some Delta Squad
figures to collect. Firstly, do you think there might be enough
fan support and recognition behind these unsurpassable books
to warrant some more Republic Commando-inspired figures?
And secondly, how big of a kick was it for you when a couple
of your own gunmetal-and-purple-clad Covert Ops Clone Troopers
showed up in True Colours?
- Beedo Sookcool,
staff writer and scholar of Mando culture
Hasbro: Republic Commandoes seem to be one of those things
that have just struck a primal chord with Star Wars fans, and
while we don't have more specific plans to expand the "coverage"
it doesn't mean that ideas won't percolate up and see the light
of day at some point in time. We also thank Ms. Traviss for the
nod to the Covert Ops troopers. Her residual check is in the
mail! ;-)
CC: Weve enjoyed the
Rogue Squadron pilots youve produced already, but are there
plans to produce any more, like Corran Horn, Gavin Darklighter,
Wes Janson, and the others? Or how about a Titanium gift set
of Rogue Squadron X-Wings from The Bacta War, when they
each painted their fighters differently?
- Richard Rice,
avid reader and piloting enthusiast
H: Yes indeed, if all goes well, Rogue Squadron will
have a long and bright future as a theme woven in and out of
the 3-3/4" line. The plan will be to bring out an occasional
figure here or there, in a comic 2-pack or other format (such
as including Doc in one of the upcoming Evolutions packs centered
around Rebel Pilots). Rather than devote basic figures to these
lesser known, but much-beloved Rogues, we will build the base
of Rogues organicaly. Here's a hint for a gem that, if all goes
well, will be coming within the next year: a comic 2-pack (likely
an exclusive) featuring Nrin Vakil and Ibtisam.
CC: Since youve re-released
the Imperial Shuttle a couple more times in the last few years
at a much lower price point (once formerly exclusive to the now-defunct
Freakin Abominably Overpriced Schwarz for $125), is there
any chance of a Fambaa re-release at a similarly reduced price?
Or better still, selling it with both the drum attachment
AND the projector attachment (once sold as a Gungan
Artillery Cannon with a Jar-Jar Binks figure) so fans could buy
as many as they needed to make a Gungan shield generator team?
- Beedo Sookcool,
staff writer and in need of more large, rare beasts for the menagerie
H: We don't have any plans to re-release the Fambaa
right now, but a couple years from now, when there will be an
upswell in Episode I collectors, it will be a strong candidate
for re-release as will many of the Episode I beasts (yes, including
the Eopie, which, we almost guarantee, will see a re-release
by 2018!).
So there you have it, space freaks!
Tune in next time and hear your duberries go >PING!< as
we bring you some more socko inside information! No, I dont
know what hear your duberries go >PING!< means,
either. I cadged it off a Kenny Everett DVD cause it sounded
