Boba Fett's Video Blog Part 2 (Plus Bonus Video Response) Posted by: Tresob Yr 05.14.08 12:01am It's been a couple of week's, but everyone's favorite Mandalorian has finally gotten around to transmitting his thoughts on the depiction of that dastardly smuggler Han Solo.

Indiana Jones and the Golden Idol Posted by: Tresob Yr 05.14.08 12:01am With the resurrection of 3.75" Indiana Jones toys, a set of Indy comics was inevitable...wasn't it?

Buzzing Posted by: Bill Cable 05.14.08 12:01am Not everyone feels comfortable in the Cantina. Check out some other ways to get your drink on in this week's "The Cantina" Comic Strip!!!

Check out OLD NEWS! Posted by: Bill Cable 05.07.08 12:01am I don't have any real new news to post, so why not milk some old news? I've added the latest news to our News Archive. This will prove exceptionally helpful to you if need to catch up on Danno's Indy story, which is quickly approaching its climax. Of course for that it'd probably be more efficient to check Danno's Article Archive. They're all down at the bottom there. But for everything else the archive is a good option.

CHAPTER 27: INDY MEETS... WHO WAS THAT AGAIN?

NOT a good idea... Posted by: Bill Cable 05.07.08 12:01am So something occurred to me last Wednesday... a few hours after I posted last week's update. I realized that while in the midst of a job search, it probably wasn't very wise to be posting comic strips depicting a desperate job hunter bent on murdering people. I have the site on my resume, so it's not that unlikely that one of my prospective employers might check it out, and if they click on the strip have second thoughts. Hopefully no damage was done, but in retrospect it wasn't the smartest thing I've done. Employers - if you're reading this today, I have no intention whatsoever of ever shooting people to take their money. I'm a rock-solid non-psychopath! So you can feel very safe hiring me. Two thumbs up!
I've decided not to continue last week's story arc, so I went to a reader-submitted idea. Enjoy this week's non-violent, gentle and well-adjusted "The Cantina" Comic Strip!!!

Quote of the Week! Posted by: Bill Cable 04.30.08 12:01am I got an E-mail from my brother Monday asking:
"Has no one ever requested a Ben (Sir Alec Guiness) Kenobi drawing? I was looking through your list, and I didn't see him."
To which I replied that no, nobody has. My brother's reaction wins CreatureCantina's "Quote of the Week" (not that we have such an award... but if we did it would)...
"That is ridiculous. I hope the people that requested the likes of FX-7, probot, and all those jedis that had maybe one line in the stupid prequels have some weird collecting concentration (like say, C3P0 for example)that compelled them to pick throw-away characters that wouldn't even have names if they didn't need something to print on the boxes the toys come in over the guy that delivered the best performance in all the star wars movies."
Amen, my brother. Amen.

Go to the Star Wars Roadshow; win Tresob's stuff! Posted by: Tresob Yr 04.30.08 12:01am This morning I made a six-figure donation to the DCSWCC. That's six action figures, not a monetary sum containing six digits. They are going to be prizes at a raffle at the Star Wars Road Show in Maryland this Saturday.
Yes, I do consider it a news-worthy update whenever I part with toys.
I also gifted 40 Star Wars minis to be used as door prizes for the first people who show up. I hear they are going to be reserving the rare minis for attractive female registrants...or maybe it was just female registrants...one can't be too picky.
If swag isn't enough to entice you, then maybe the fun-filled, family-oriented atmosphere will be. The DCSWCC Star Wars Road Show is a unique event modeled after PBS's Antique Road Show, only with uber-collectors from the DC Metro Area Star Wars Collecting Club showing off their geekiness by identifying your hopefully rare Star Wars collectibles and then telling you how much they would have been worth if you hadn't opened them up and played with them as a kid. But the most exciting part of it all is, again, the chance to own toys that were once in my possession.
The Star Wars Road Show is being held Saturday, May 3rd from 1:30pm until 4:30pm at West County Area Library, 1325 Annapolis Road Odenton, MD 21113.
