The Force Among Us II

Some of you may remember that I was in a SW documentary a few years back (5 to be exact) called: “The Force Among Us”. Well now, in 2012, director Cris Macht is moving forward with the sequel! Here's a brief synopsis (which I wrote myself at Cris’ request. The one he actually ended up using was a much shorter version, but here you get to see the original first draft of it.):

1977 brought the world its first glimpse into “the Force”. We encountered it again in 1980 and again in 1983. Then it went dormant for quite some time, until it was re-ignited in 1999, 2002, and finally in 2005. But 2007 brought about “The Force Among Us”, and now, in 2012, we have its sequel: “The Force Within Us”.

This film is a retrospective. It’s how a SW-obsessed future filmmaker was reborn and found the meaning of life through re-discovering “The Empire Strikes Back” on an old Beta tape in October of 1991. It's a tale of how he was saved by Star Wars and its positive story. More than just a sci-fi adventure pitting good against evil, it was a way to deal with life and an escape from a personal family tragedy. In working on this project, director Cris Macht found many others that felt like he did. Star Wars was their salvation, a connection to the past, to better times. Each story is unique, people with different backgrounds, from different walks of life, different income brackets, but all with the same unifying element; Star Wars. This production will be a deep, emotional journey, but will also feature a few Star Wars celebrities and will be filmed at familiar Star Wars locations, like the Redwood forest. It will also include some more footage from Cris's trip to Norway that didn't make it into the original film. This sequel will not be as contemporary as “The Force Among Us”, still just as enjoyable, but more nostalgic and thought provoking. “Revenge of the Sith”was the last of the “live action” films, Lucas has repeatedly stated there will be no more. But fans like those you will see in this film keep it alive and give it focus through artwork, stories, websites, blogs, mock-umentaries, and documentaries to name a few. Why? Why do people who have families, active lives, full time jobs and such continue to spend, or waste so much time and effort on something some simply consider fantasy, or mindless entertainment. This feature is not about fans' collections, but a collection of fans who, through that galaxy far, far away, turn hurt into hope, and pain into pride. For Star Wars flows through them; from Mother to son, from sister to brother, from one friend to another, and from generation to generation. It is: “The Force Within Us”.

I am scheduled to be interviewed for the film, but exact dates and times for that to occur are still TBD. I will keep you informed as things progress with that as well as info on when and where to pre-order the DVD. A preview is already up on Cris' Facebook page and was posted on Rebelscum last week.
