So just before I left for vacation, I received an email on behalf of the folks at Jenga asking if I'd like to review their newest product - Jenga GIANT. I said heck yes I would! It arrived the day I got back, which was perfect timing, as I was just about to attend a PSWCS meeting. That would be the ideal place to give this puppy a test run.

It comes in a sturdy carry duffel, which is both genius and totally necessary. This set is HEAVY, and carrying it around in a big cardboard box would be a pain.

The block are impressively hefty, and they stacked just like the traditional smaller sets.

According to the instructions, who ever sets the stack pulls first, so away we go...

The instrux say the game "stacks up to 5 feet" (about which I've seen reviews complain that the starting stack wasn't nearly 5' tall... which you'd really need to misunderstand the statement to make that complaint...) and an expert player can stack it up to 44 levels. Which is insane. But we gave it our best shot!

There were a few rounds where I thought to myself "Woohoo - I did it... no way this gets back around to me again!" And then it did get back around to me again. Over and over. And I found myself in dire straights. There were literally TWO possible blocks in the entire tower which could be conceivably moved. Both near the base. And both very firmly set in place. Using a finger to try to balance the tower while another tried to pry it out, I set about my difficult task...

And AMAZINGLY, it worked! I got it free without toppling the tower!! Look at that look of joy on my face at my success!

But alas - my elation was premature. Within a second, the tower began to lean. And then - CATASTROPHE!

On the plus side, it did yield a fantastic photo, which got a ton of likes on Facebook.

We played 5 or 6 more games, and had a blast with each one. None was as intense as the first, as that's the highest stack we stacked. But it was a ton of fun. And I can totally see why Jenga has targeted this at the legit competitive tournament market.

As Star Wars collectors, we did have a few suggestions for the folks at Jenga. First of all, how about a Star Wars Mandalorian-themed set? Called Jango! Or perhaps a Carbonite-themed set with little frozen Han Solos painted on all of them? We Star Wars collectors love our licensed tie-ins, and there's a bunch of Jenga options!
