Not wanting to miss out on anything, I met up with my friend Eric Pfeifer of Twin Suns Outpost at his house at 11:00 am on Thursday morning and waited for our friend Amanda to show up. We then went to lunch at the Chili's restaurant nearest the TRU, then camped out near the TRU front doors for the day. I brought PowerAde, Eric brought lawn chairs, Eric's mom dropped off chocolate chip cookies, and we were set. Amanda went into TRU that afternoon and bought some lightsabers so she and Eric could have lightsaber duels in the parking lot. We spent the rest of the time chatting and talking about everything we wanted to get at midnight.

Eric's Twin Suns Podcast co-host, Jessie, showed up later in the day, then as it got darker, more and more people started to line up. For it being the last day of August, once the sun went down, it got rather chilly, so people bundled up with blankets they had brought, and we commenced a rousing game of Star Wars Trivial Pursuit.

As it got closer to midnight, the chairs were packed away and we got in our lines to be ushered into the store at 12:01. It turns out that the store didn't get in their shipment of free t-shirts they were going to be giving away, so they had to take down our names and telephone numbers and would let us know once they came in.

The moment arrived where the doors were opened, carts were grabbed, and the dash down the aisles toward the Star Wars section resembled the Boonta Eve Podrace. I started grabbing all the new cars, the two-figure packs, the 2017 Star Wars Lego advent calendar, and I can't even remember what else as it was all such chaos. Then we checked out as fast as we could, piled it all into Eric's car, and Jessie, Amanda, myself, and another friend headed off with Eric to a nearby 24 hour Walmart to see what could be gotten there. They didn't have too much, all I got there was the Black Series Rey's Speeder, but Amanda said there was another 24 hour Walmart we could try. So we headed off once again.

This time fortune smiled upon us and I got a lot of the Funko pops, the big First Order Heavy Assault Walker Lego set and who-knows what else. Then we went back to TRU, dropped off Jessie and her friend, and the rest of us returned to Eric's house as some of us were spending the night there to be ready to go early again that morning. It was @ 2:30 when I finally closed my eyes to get some sleep.

It turned out none of the stores like Disney were going to be open at 6 am, it seems the turnout for "Rogue Friday" wasn't that big, so they didn't want to have to pay employees to come in that early. So we got to sleep until whenever, just so we were ready to go by 7:30. We hit Target first, and there were already a few people standing outside. At 8:00, we rushed in and started grabbing what we could. I got some more Funko Pops, the Star Wars Destiny card game set, the huge BB-8 playset, the large Rey figure, some "Last Jedi" related clothes, and misc. Star Wars collectibles that just had to be had.

It was now off to the Disney Store where I got their Rey figure and a huge "The Last Jedi" bag. Then to Hot Topic and FYE to get their "The Last Jedi" exclusive Funko Pops. Then it was off to the Hallmark store where miraculously I didn't end up buying anything! We ended up going back to TRU then because in his hurry, Eric had bought doubles of one of the vehicles. So while there we pulled out our phones and started scanning all the "Find the Force" images to unlock the characters that were available. Lastly, we went to Cracker Barrel for breakfast.

Upon returning to Eric's house, I began the arduous task of loading all of my treasures into my car. It took up the trunk, part of the back seat and the floor, and the front passenger seat and the floor. Eric actually had bought two of the Black Series Thrawn figures, and gave me one in return for buying him lunch the next time I was up there. I headed home, tired, happy, and @ $1000.00 lighter, but a fun and Force Friday-filled time was had by all!
