My best pick-up at Celebration Orlando 2017 actually originated from Celebration Europe 2016. Before CE, a group of friends and I visited Greenham Common, the former RAF base near London that served as the Resistance Base in The Force Awakens. It was a ridiculously awesome experience.

Typically they don't allow visitors to the site, but I must have caught the site owner on a good day and offered just enough of a deal he couldn't refuse to get us all in there. It was magical. We were guided around by Tim Cable (no relation... though maybe that's why they let us in), the site manager who just happened to be in charge of the site during all filming of TFA. He had wonderful stories to share. He told us how Harrison Ford was a genuine good guy, and how he'd ride a bike around the site for hours every morning before hitting the weight room until shooting was set to start. He told us how Daisy Ridley was full of energy. And he could point out exactly where each shot took place. The visit couldn't have been better.

As we were leaving, he told us a story about how when the crew were cleaning up the site (they had to guarantee to restore it to pristine original condition), he came across some scaffolding that was used to assemble the Falcon. He picked it up and brought it to their attention. They told him he could keep it. And then he asked us "Do you guys want it?" To which, of course, we said "HELL YEAH!"

It was a pipe - maybe 14" long. And after some discussion, Ross Cuddie said he'd take it with him and divide it up distribute it to all the people who attended. At Celebration Orlando, I received my section.

I gotta say, Ross did a wonderful job here! He tracked down a very nice acrylic case, and put the nameplate on the front and it looks impressively professional.

But my favorite part is how he included an in-construction photo of the Falcon from the Greenham Common site. You can actually see the very scaffolding from which this prop was recovered!

Parts of the pipe were splattered with the paint used on the Falcon prop. I didn't get a section with a lot of paint, but you can see some of the yellow here on this section. That's OFFICIAL Millennium Falcon yellow right there!!

This will make for a really nice way to remember our trip to this shooting location, and the fun times we had listening to Tim. Kudos to Ross for turning it into a gorgeous display piece. I guess I'm officially a prop collector now.
