Action figures and their beers!

Last week, we reviewed Golden Champion, a Badger ale brewed with elderflowers. Now, for those insecure, overtly macho types who need to get back into the mindset of hard-spittin’, bronco-bustin’, gum-chewin’, rare-steak-and-apple-pie-eatin’, gun-totin’, manly beers, we present an English ale with a poster-boy who’s A Real American Hero...

Named after the waves at the shoreline, but it’s got the same name as a G.I. Joe character, so I’m running with it. Also, it’s brewed by Bays Brewery, located in the very town in which I live, so this mention is largely a Support-Your-Local-Business shout-out. I’d like to say that Bays Brewery Breaker (and the other offering, Bays Brewery Gold) is a prince among beers in the hopes of boosting tourism and bringing more money into the local coffers, but in all honesty I can’t. It’s just good beer that’s made locally.

Drink this if you also like: Any other good beer. Again, it’s another one of those microbrews that is very good and beats the pants off most mass-produced horse-piss from various monolithic, soulless, and morally bankrupt corporations. (Do not get me started on the subject of human rights abuses by certain breweries in the past, unless you have half an hour to spare and are buying the drinks). But back to the topic at hand, while Breaker is a very decent brew in its own right, in a sea of competition, it’s just another wave. Again, though, if you want to do your part to support local businesses, drink this stuff with confidence and pride and enjoy some nice suds. is not affiliated with Lucasfilm Ltd. or any of its licensees... damn them to hell.
