Just a Flesh Wound! Posted by: Bill Cable 11.23.05 12:01am Got broadband? Then this movie is for YOU! I got this link from a guy in Garrison Carida. Side note... PSWCS is holding a toy drive to benefit Garrison Carida... if you haven't heard. It's a hilarious little flick, but it's a hair over 80MB, so it's not for you 56K dinosaurs. The rest of you, prepare to laugh!

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone Posted by: Doughboy 11.23.05 12:01am Time to give thanks, here it goes.
Thank you George Lucas for ruining my life. Sure you made one great film (Empire Strikes back) and a few others that go before and after, but damn you! Because of your stupid ass "Space Opera", I'm now one of those people I never thought I'd be, a nerd. Yes I'm a sci-fi geek, nerd, dweeb, dork, Luke Skywalker Wannabe. It's your fault I enjoy collecting toys for children even though I'm in my 30's. It's your fault I left work early one day to wait in line 6 hours just to buy tickets to Episode 1. It's your fault I spend more time on the computer than with my family. It's your fault I spend 1/4 of my income on Star Wars collectibles. It's your fault my wife divorced me. It's your fault I'm where I am today. Damn you George Lucas, damn you! Thanks for ruining my life, I wouldn't want it any other way ;-)

Ten Reasons Why I am Thankful for Creature Cantina Posted by: Tresob Yr 11.23.05 5:51pm In honor of Thanksgiving, I offer the following meditations on the boons of the Cantina.
- CC.com provides an open, unfettered, and boundless medium for all of my high-concept, cutting edge, and intellectually-stimulating art.
- The cool press release packets and rare collectibles I get sent directly from George Lucas himself!
- Confusing foreigners.
- The generous and extensive health benefits that Mr. Cable offers his staff.
- The great deals I find on our banner ads. You should click one!
- The heartfelt affection of my fellow contributors, particularly when Rensi gave me a touching cameo appearance in his comic.
- Self-handicapping advancement in my career by spending hours on end taking photographs of toys.
- The hot local singles and experimental medical wonders that have been introduced to my life through my very own Cantina e-mail address.
- The four to six hits per month at http://swaft.info that my server traces back to links on the Cantina.
- The satisfaction of knowing that you are reading this page, and some other Star Wars Website.
Thank you Bill Cable. And thank you, CreatureCantina.com.

New business Posted by: Bill Cable 11.30.05 12:01am This week's comic is lame. Monday night, as I was agonizing through the Steeler game, I realized I forgot to do my strip. Holiday weekend, you know. So I just recycled some art, threw in a punchline, and thus you have this week's "The Cantina" Comic Strip!!!

Old business Posted by: Bill Cable 11.30.05 12:01am I made a mistake. And no, it wasn't starting this time sink of a web site. Back on October 12th, I did a comic strip attributed to Belinda Schön. Well, that was wrong. The person who submitted the idea was actually Sebastian Schön - Belinda's son, using Belinda's E-mail account. So anyway, mistake fixed. Thanks for the correction, Sebastian!

ATOC Posted by: Tresob Yr 11.30.05 12:01am One rule of the Sith that Darth Sidious seemed to have forgotten is that it is generally a good idea to pick apprentices who are younger than you. Not only do geriatric apprentices have a shorter shelf-life, they are more difficult to train (if only because they can be hard of hearing...)

Hasbro Branches Out Posted by: Big_E 11.30.05 12:01am When Revenge of the Sith debuted in May 2005 it marked the end of a second era. After Return of the Jedi in 1983 there was hope that some day George Lucas would revisit the universe that we all know and love. But now the end is in sight with no new theatrical movies coming.
Hasbro, who now owns Kenner, has been right there alongside Lucas the entire time and they are also faced with extending their Star Wars market. With the license until 2018, there is plenty of time to come out with new product, but what direction should that product take?
Noticing a high demand for adult collectibles, the Hasbro Design Team has decided to tap that ass...er, market with the new Jabba Personal Pleasure Device.
"With this new toy, Hasbro is branching out into a multi-billion dollar market that we know a lot of our core collectors also belong to," said Hasbro rep Dirk McShaft.
"The new Jabba Battle Masters toy will allow kids to battle with their other Attacktix figures but will also allow our adult collectors to have fun too...if you see what I'm sayin'."
The new Jabba the Hutt Battle Masters will be sold at your local toy retailer and adult book store in early 2006.

New "Cable Original" alien art!! Posted by: Bill Cable 11.30.05 12:01am Check it out. More new art! My ninety-ninth Cable Original. I'm tempted to start reminiscing about things... 8 years of history... but I think that'd be jumping the gun a bit. I'll save that for the real milestone.
So I guess all I can really talk about it the drawing. It's a cool one! One of the best Vintage POTF characters. Amanaman! So, what the hell is an Amanaman? Well, actually... he's an Amanin. That was something kinda difficult to track down. Why? Because, for whatever reason, Amanaman isn't in the Star Wars Databank at StarWars.com!! They have a big ol' article on the freakin' "condor dragon," but can't dedicate a single databank page to one of the most striking bounty hunters from Jabba's Palace??!!
So I ended up using the Force. TheForce.net. They had a pretty damned detailed description of the big yellow leech. Stuff you wouldn't know from photos or the movie. Stuff like he has claws. Every photo I've seen makes it look like he has chunky, squared-off fingertips like an Ithorian. But nope... it's just the angle. He has claws.
I also learned that those long-ass, gangly arms... used for swinging. They're like chimps. Eight foot tall, yellow, slimy chimps.
Armed with my newfound, extensive knowledge of Amanins, I was able to put together a pretty interesting take on Amanaman. After all, the only thing we've ever really seen him do is stand there, holding a decomposing corpse and his headhunter skull staff. Actually, that sounds pretty damned awesome. But it's been done. This hasn't. Check out the true personality of the beloved Amanaman!!!

Comic Posted by: Bill Cable 12.07.05 12:01am Yeah, I still had time to throw together this week's "The Cantina" Comic Strip!!!

Oh, Those Sith... Posted by: Tresob Yr 12.07.05 12:01am There are some who say the powers of the Sith are...unnatural...but Governor Tarkin never could have expected this...

Crappy update Posted by: Bill Cable 12.07.05 12:01am Real-life responsibilities Tuesday mean this week's update is really, REALLY slim. Many apologies!

Welcome back Beedo!! Posted by: Bill Cable 12.14.05 12:01am I've been receiving comic ideas like crazy the past few weeks. I hope to get to the good ones... eventually. Just the good ones. You guys who sent crappy ones - don't get your hopes up. This week's comic is one of the most recent I received, but it was topical so I had to go with it now. Plus, it was from one of our favorite idea men - Beedo Sookool... Sokool... ah, I don't feel like looking it up again. Check out the correct spelling in this week's "The Cantina" Comic Strip!!!

I don't think you use a lightsaber for that... Posted by: Bill Cable 12.14.05 12:01am Personalized Christmas cards. Joyful. Creative. Sometimes oddly disturbing...
Take for example the Star Wars-themed card sent out by the Three Rivers Endoscopy Center in Pittsburgh, PA. How do they display their holiday spirit? Let's take a look:
Nothing says Christmas like seven medical techs attacking a colon polyp with lightsabers!! I think I might just vomit in my stocking.
Wanna read more? Here's the whole article.

Last Respects... Posted by: Tresob Yr 12.14.05 12:01am Long before Bill Cable and crew brought their irreverent humor to the Cantina, another funnyman told his own brand of bawdy jokes from behind the counter...

The comic survives!! Posted by: Bill Cable 12.21.05 12:01am CreatureCantina.com survived and recovered from a hacker attack, all so we could bring you this week's "The Cantina" Comic Strip!!!

CC.com gets HACKED!! Posted by: Bill Cable 12.21.05 12:01am If you stopped by CC.com on Sunday, you probably either couldn't get in, or you saw some weird PHP script errors. That's because a hacker stumbled upon our IP address, broke in through a perl or PHP security hole, and started running probes to dig into the server. Luckily the server admin found the hack early on and was able to boot him and close the security hole. It took a night full of changing passwords and rewriting PHP code, but he had us back up and running with no data loss and no real problems. We're thinking it was probably just an automated program, cycling through IP addresses looking for a vulnerable server. It probably would have hijacked the web server and sent out a billion SPAMs if it hadn't been caught. So it wasn't anything malicious against CreatureCantina.com in particular. After all, we never do anything to upset anyone. But man, the thing sure caused a pain in my ass...

The grinch who locked Christmas... and Hanukkah Posted by: Bill Cable 12.21.05 12:01am I remember a time... a time long past... when you could walk up to a stranger, wish him a Merry Christmas, and NOT be spat upon and called a fascist Bible-thumper. It was a time when people could appreciate a friendly greeting at its face value, not dissect your intentions in the worst light possible. After all... Christmas is a national holiday and everything.
But sadly, those simpler days are gone. Now it's intolerant to wish someone a Merry Christmas. It's insensitive. It's offensive. Now you gotta be inclusive... wish everyone Happy Holidays. You can't say the dreaded "C-word." Not that I have a problem with the holidays. If someone wants to wish me a Happy Hanukkah, I'm flattered. I can't really appreciate the holiday, but it's a nice thing to say. And if some guy wants to give me a copy of the official Kwanza manual and wish me a happy Kwanza, I'd be honored. That's because I'd take these greetings at face value. I'm not a cynic. And I'm not a zealot.
Anyway, sure... you gotta deal with these things from the ACLU, talk radio and politicians. But I never thought it'd spread to our own Star Wars community. Sadly, it has. You see, in the Rebelscum forums, there's a ban against threads on religion. And the mods there have decided that that includes Hanukkah greetings. And Christmas greetings. That's right - wish somebody a Merry Christmas and the thread gets locked. Wish somebody a Happy Hanukkah and the thread gets locked. And it's a damn shame. It's hurts the community. A Grinch has stolen the holiday spirit at RebelScum... and here he is:

A Creature Cantina Christmas Carol Posted by: Tresob Yr 12.21.05 12:01am This year, the Cantina presents a very special rendition of Charles Dickens' classic tale of an old miser's redemption as he learns the true meaning of Christmas...

The time is NOW: Vote Willrow Hood!!! Posted by: Bill Cable 12.21.05 12:01am It's not often that we collectors are given a voice. 99.999% of the time, Hasbro does a little research, decides which characters will sell best, and churns out whatever they want. And we end up with two dozen resculpts of Luke Tatooine, or the same Han Solo figure released on every different cardback over the course of four years.
Even when we're asked for our opinion, most of the time it's extremely restricted. Choose from these 6 SideShow Toys 12" EU figures. Choose from these 5 Fan Choice possibilities. Even if a few interesting characters are available, they never include the figure that deep in our hearts we REALLY want.
But now, for the first time ever, we've been given an unfettered voice direct to Hasbro. For the first time, the Fan Choice will come from the choice of FANS... not the choice of a group of suits who spoon feed us a handful of options to choose from. And for the first time, we have the opportunity to ensure something truly unique happens... to ensure that a figure that no corporate suit would ever DREAM of including on his short list will be made!
How do we do this? Simple! Vote Willrow Hood. ToyFare is conducting the next Fan Choice poll, but this time they're accepting any character you want to submit! All you gotta do is go to the following site and vote:
http://www.wizarduniverse.com/.../poll.cfm
So now you're asking "Why the hell should I vote for Willrow Hood???" It's simple! He's the coolest! While evacuating Cloud City, he decided the one item he needed to save was his precious Ice Cream Maker. Hence his nickname - Ice Cream Maker Guy! If that's not enough, he looks cool. He acts cool. You can read all about his coolness at the ICMG Website.
I already know what you're thinking. "But I don't want a Willrow Hood figure! I want Quinlan Vos! I want Kir Kanos!!" You know what - SO DO I! But you know what, both those guys have been on Fan Choice lists before. They'll be on Fan Choice lists again. Considering that Hasbro has the license until 2018, even if those two guys NEVER win a Fan Choice poll the WILL get produced sometime. So will the popular Cantina and Jabba's Palace characters. So will Guri and Mara Jade. Every character you can think of WILL get made because Hasbro has to keep the line going.
So now that we're giving this absolutely unique opportunity, why not use it to choose a character that otherwise has NO CHANCE of EVER getting made? That character - Willrow Hood. No matter the size of his cult following, Hasbro is never going to turn a normal human character who runs by the screen for two seconds into an action figure. So really... this poll we have now, where we can choose ANYONE... we should choose someone SPECIAL. Show Hasbro the POWER of us FANS. And be a part of a phenomenon that'll stand out as historic in this toy line!! VOTE Willrow Hood!!!

Big E's Best & Worst of 2005!!! Posted by: Big_E 12.21.05 12:01am It's December again and a great year in the world of Star Wars has come to an end. In 2005 we were treated to more chapters of the Emmy winning "Clone Wars" cartoon and the release of the final chapter in the saga, Revenge of the Sith. As can be expected in an event year for Star Wars, the collectibles market was in overdrive. From Burger King to Target, Hasbro to Attakus you couldn't get away from it even if you tried...and that's a GOOD thing!
There was a lot to celebrate this year but, as can be expected, not everything was a home run. So here it is, my take on the best and worst of 2005 in the world of Star Wars.
Click here to read Big E's Best & Worst of 2005!

Presents... Posted by: Tresob Yr 12.28.05 12:01am There are few things more fun for a kid than showing off their presents...unless, of course, that kid is a padawan...

Season's Greetings from LFL!! Posted by: Bill Cable 12.28.05 12:01am Believe it or not, I didn't get any Star Wars toys for Christmas. Granted, I didn't ask for any Star Wars toys, either. But usually I get SOMETHING.
What I did get was a couple Star Wars greeting cards. The first was this Darth Maul Santa thing that scared my wife and children. The second was a card from none other than Steve Sansweet at LucasFilm. It's the coolest thing I get in the mail every December. The reason I get one has nothing to do with CreatureCantina.com. If anything, that works against me. I get one because I'm the president of PSWCS and I make sure Steve gets a PSWCS T-shirt every year.
I haven't seen anybody else post pics of this year's card, so I figured I'd share. It's a really nice card depicting LFL's big move this past year. And it has C-3PO on it, so it's uber-cool. Enjoy:

A minimalist comic! Posted by: Bill Cable 01.04.06 12:01am In my never-ending quest to do as little as possible, I've managed to almost completely eliminate any drawing at all from my comic. I'm down to one doodle. I'm still waiting for somebody to send in an idea that shows no characters at all. That will be a glorious day indeed. Until then, enjoy this week's "The Cantina" Comic Strip!!!

Trying that SideShow thing one more time... Posted by: Bill Cable 01.04.06 12:01am Hey check it out... the latest Sideshow 12" offering:
Now... to date... we've received $0.00 in commissions. Not one red cent. Despite thousands of readers who visit every day, not one has clicked on one of our links to order one of these cool 12" figures. This is despite the fact that I know member of my OWN FREAKIN' STAFF HAVE ORDERED THE OTHER TWO!!!! I mean... if I can't even count on my own staff...
Anyway... when the time comes to pre-order the special edition Obi-Wan... don't just click on whatever E-mail link you get. Jump over here, and this banner ought to work. At least try! It's one extra click, you lazy jerks!!

Dropping the Ball... Posted by: Tresob Yr 01.04.06 12:01am A handful of action figures faced indomitable crowds and freezing weather to celebrate New Year's in Time Square...but the worst horror they would face would be themselves...

A joyful New Year! Posted by: Bill Cable 01.04.06 12:01am We make fun of other web sites. A lot. It's our bread and butter. Sure... Hasbro serves up helping after helping of meaty comedic goodness, but for week-to-week gags our Internet brethren are where it's at. And being the frequent target of derision can sour your attitude towards the deriders. Our articles are never meant to be mean-spirited (well... except the ones about Sir Steve... that bastard deserves it), but it's hard to tell from our end if the recipients of our jab take them in the spirit in which we intend them. So it's hard for us to gauge our reputation in our social circles unless someone tells us explicitly that we suck.
To celebrate the new year, somebody told us just that!
The guys over at Rebelscum took a little trip to Rancho Obi-Wan. You may have read the article. Amazing stuff. And they did the nicest thing while there... the did a little shout-out for your friends here at CC.com. Check it out:
Now isn't that nice?? Notice how one guy altered the sign to say "Bill Cable SUCKS"... very touching! I mean... that's something just out of the blue that I never would have expected. Now I know we're on their good side despite the vicious attacks and doctored photographs.
You've probably seen that photo already, but they did even more than that! They E-mailed me a few more photos from the Rancho that can now be presented as CC.com exclusives!! First of all, they sent a couple more photos of crazy RS staffers goofing off. Enjoy:
Gotta love that we can inspire such... creativity. And they sent one more. This one is my favorite. Check it out:
At first, when I looked at that one, I thought those were action figures. But no... those are the ACTUAL CANTINA BAND! FROM THE MOVIE!! That's just... the coolest thing ever. So thanks go out to Rebelscum for this wonderful gift. Message received. You're fine with the vicious attacks and character assassination. We'll keep it up. And hey... maybe next trip you can invite us along!! We make good travel drinking buddies! A blast for a weekend or so, but you're thrilled to get back to your families.

Ask and ye shall receive Posted by: Bill Cable 01.11.06 12:01am Last week I talked about how my goal was to do a comic strip that contained no art whatsoever. Leave it to our regular idea Beedo Sookcool to chime in with a great, no-art idea! Enjoy this week's "The Cantina" Comic Strip!!!

Rancho Obi-Wan correction Posted by: Bill Cable 01.11.06 12:01am Last week, as I showered praise on RebelScum, I posted that I was most impressed with a photo of the Cantina Band which I thought was from the movie. Turns out I was wrong. Those Bith aren't screen-used Bith. They're an animatronic set that was on display at the Las Vegas FAO Schwarz. So I guess it wasn't quite as cool as I presented it to be. Still cool, just not geeking-out cool.

The Look Posted by: Tresob Yr 01.11.06 12:01am Solo reflects on every male geek's ultimate wish-fulfillment...and how he missed his big chance...

Star Wars collectors lose touch with reality Posted by: Big_E 01.11.06 12:01am With the debut of the new Saga Collection of action figures from Hasbro, collectors have gone off the deep end. Not content to collect just the figures they like, they must collect every variation available on the market. Those variations now include numbers on accessories.
The first wave of six action figures in 2006, dubbed the "Carkoon Wave," includes a Han Solo figure with a Force Pike. That pike has a number on it and people are going nuts over this "variant" from Hasbro. So nuts, in fact, that some have actually calculated the number of possible variations in this wave at 192.
Shhh...don't tell them that the number just identifies the mold the weapon was made in.
In case 192 possible variations for these six figures isn't enough, how about speculation on the entire run of 2006 figures? According to some posters, the rumored 56 figures this year could generate over 1000 variations just based on known factors such as holographic pack-in, river water temperature in Kyrgyzstan and sodium content of Spicier Nacho Doritos.
If you take into account intangible factors such as design changes, plant worker dissatisfaction or the air-speed velocity of an unladen African swallow caught in a hurricane, the variations for 2006 could number in the millions.
Realizing this could be Hasbro's huge bitch-slap to the face of Star Wars fans, forums lit up today as "variations" were listed, discussed and lamented over. Early reports that Prozac sales were on the rise could not be linked to this sudden discovery. Eli Lily stock was also up in after-hours trading.
Stay tuned to this web site for further information.

Bill Cable - big time movie storyboard artist! Posted by: Bill Cable 01.11.06 12:01am Last fall I did a little work on a Star Wars fan film that's in production. The film is called "Threads of Destiny." I was contacted by the director, Rasmus Tirzitis, and asked to draw some storyboards. He liked my art. Being a sucker for flattery, I said I'd do it. Little did I know the thousands of hours of work ahead of me.
A few dozen storyboards later, and the film started filming. That was back in September. Just this week Rasmus sent me an E-mail that the first teaser trailer was done. And man, does it look good!
Here's your Threads of Destiny trailer:
Mirror 1 - Mirror 2 - Mirror 3
I think the film will be completed sometime in 2006. They got lots of FX work to wrap up. It was an amazing project to be a part of... lots of very talented people. Check out the TOD web site... their conceptual artist is phenomenal. Plus, the princess is a babe. And here's a little sample of some of my contribution to the endeavor:
Impressed? And that's crap I did for free! Imagine how amazing it'd look if I was getting paid. You hearing me Mr. Lucas?

Cable Original #100 Posted by: Bill Cable 01.11.06 12:01am At long last, I'm prepared to reveal the one-hundredth "Cable Original" drawing. I've spent many weeks perfecting the art which will go down in history as my masterpiece. I'm thrilled to share it with you now! Behold - SLAVE LEIA!!!
Oh crap... I accidentally posted the latest from Will Wire! I guess you'll need to stop back next week to see the real "Cable Original" #100.

A Slave Leia comic strip! Posted by: Bill Cable 01.18.06 12:01am What better way to celebrate Cable Original #100 than to bring our favorite bikini-clad princess into the hive of scum and villainy? I did this one special. I never have a lot of time to devote to the art for the strip. Usually I just sketch the characters real quick and ink them with a Uni-ball Vision ink pen. I like the thick, consistent line weight of the Uni-ball. The liquid ink just flows so smooth. But this week I wanted to go all-out. So I spent a little more time on the pencils, and I inked it using the same pen I use for my Cable Original drawings. I didn't go into all the stippling and cross-hatching of a Cable Original, but the pen does allow for a much more varied line weight, and a lot more control. So this is about half as good as my comic art could be if I was actually paid for it.
BTW, all you people out there who missed out on the Cable Original Slave Leia... a nice substitute would be to own the "The Cantina" comic strip Slave Leia art! I've sold the art from a few of my strips over the years. Really, any time somebody asked and was willing to pony up a few bucks. Considering how much more someone was willing to pay for the Slave Leia Cable Original, I could probably let the comic art go for $50. Or maybe $60. Eh... whatever. I really went all-out on this one. It'll be signed and dated, with a nice, high-quality print of the comic. I even saved my high-rez originals (before scaling to 72dpi), so they'll look AMAZING! Oh, did I mention that the art goes well below where the bar cuts her off, and is much more revealing? To get a taste of what you could own, check out this week's "The Cantina" Comic Strip!!!

Speaking of collection inventory Posted by: Jedi Tronzo 01.18.06 12:01am Over Christmas break Philip and the gang from Rebelscum went to Rancho Obi-Wan to help Steve Sansweet inventory his collection. WOW!!!! I can only imagine how cool it would be to help Steve inventory his collection.
Well, the gang here at the Creature Cantina led by are fearless leader Bill Cable did absolutely nothing. We didn't even get a Happy Hanzamas card. (Hanzamas - to be politically correct Hanukkah, Kwanza & Christmas)
Maybe Bill should look to Philip as an example on how to treat staff writers. Maybe then Creature Cantina could get some quality material.
Well, there was that one time he took us to Hooters at C3. That was cool. Hooters, beer and Star Wars. I bet y'all didn't get scantly clad women at Sansweet's!!!

NSA uncovers DCSWCC overthrow plot Posted by: Tresob Yr 01.18.06 12:01am Top members of DC Metro Area Star Wars Collecting Club (DCSWCC) have been arrested on charges of conspiracy and treason. Invoking presidential surveillance privileges, Nation Security Agents used wiretaps and Internet "cookies" to intercept correspondence between DCSWCC members detailing plans to launch a coup d’etat on Washington D.C. Under the condition of anonymity, our sources indicate: "At first we noticed a lot of chatter on the Internet. We thought it was just about toys. Then we realized it was a code." Sources allege that conversations describing Hasbro's new 2006 Saga line with hologram bonus figures were actually a complicated system of code signs.
As Creature Cantina reporters learned, a 2006 figure itself might represent a person or a place, while the hologram it was packaged with represented a particular event. "When we started seeing a lot of people ask about Han-in-Carbonite packaged with a Darth Vader hologram, we knew it was time to act," our anonymous source said. Another source, who is not a 53 year-old bald man with the initials B.O. living at 3102 Juniper Street, indicates that the alleged plot involved removing the President Bush from office, appointing a life-size cardboard cut out of Natalie Portman as the new head of state, and setting up an army of 3.75" clone trooper action figures in a defensive perimeter around the White House.

Reminder - VOTE FOR WILLROW!!! Posted by: Bill Cable 01.18.06 12:01am There's still time to cast a vote in the ToyFare Collector's Choice poll! And there's still time for you to cast the correct vote!
Since ToyFare posted their poll, guess what's happened. Quinlan Vos has been confirmed to be released in 2006. I said he'd come out eventually, poll or not. Kir Kanos has been confirmed to be released in 2006 as well. I also said he'd come out eventually. It's all coming to pass as I had foretold. Hell, even Hermi Odle has been confirmed! THERE ARE NO OTHER MAJOR FAN FAVORITES LEFT!! None except the beloved Ice Cream Maker Guy. So cast your vote today - a vote that'll count! A vote that'll mean something! A vote to cast in plastic an obscure, yet amazing character that has no other chance of ever getting made! VOTE WILLROW HOOD!!!

More unusual Star Wars porn Posted by: Jedi Tronzo 01.18.06 12:01am Recently my buddy Vaughn came to visit over Christmas and help inventory some of my collection. During the course of the day, we were working up a thirst, so I went down to the kitchen to grab some iced tea. Now, Vaughn is an honest guy, I knew that he wouldn't try and sneak a few items from my collection. When I came back to the attic, I saw something more shocking than Vaughn trying to steal my coveted Hal Wamsley autographed Jawa figure... Yes he was molesting my dog!
A rebuttal from Vaughn: DAMMIT THE DOG MOLESTED ME. I was petting him under the chin and he tried to hump me... the rocket even made an appearance. I'm traumatized for life!!! I don't know what Tronzo is teaching that dog!?!?

The Pits Posted by: Tresob Yr 01.18.06 12:01am In their daring effort to rescue their friend Han Solo, our heroes allow themselves to be captured by Jabba the Hutt. Cruel and merciless, Jabba sentences Luke, Han, and Chewbacca to be thrown into the Pit of Carkoon. What Jabba doesn't realize, is that he is playing right into Luke's plan...

Posted by: Bill Cable 01.18.06 12:01am At last, after numerous delays, it's finally here! My one-hundredth "Cable Original" drawing! I've been thinking quite a bit about how I want to handle this, and I decided to go with the long-winded, mostly-dull, big-ass, introspective, rambling mess. Feel free to skip to the end and just click on the art.
So, where to begin?
The History
Oh, what a long, strange trip it's been! If you had told me 9 years ago that Star Wars fans would pay me to draw them portraits of their favorite characters, I would have laughed in your face. Sure, I was a decent artist; but I'd never been really paid for anything I'd ever done before. And when I was presented with the idea of selling my art by a fellow collector, I initially resisted the idea. First and foremost, I didn't want to get sued!!
Here's how it started.

Pittsburgh's goin' to the SuperBowl... Posted by: Bill Cable 01.25.06 12:01am If you've ever received an E-mail from me, or read any of my posts in any of the forums I frequent, you've seen this in my sig: "Bill Cable - Steelers Fan & Star Wars Collector." I Googled my sig, and that shows up as my sig going back to at least 2000. I chose those words very carefully, and there's a reason why Steelers Fan comes first. That's because the Steelers are first in my heart. As avid a fan I am of Star Wars, it pales in comparison to my passion for the Black & Gold.
Just like my love of Star Wars, my love of the Steelers goes back to my childhood. I was born in 1973, so I was a little young to understand what was going on when the Steelers were winning SuperBowls. But I do have a few very vivid memories of those days. I remember after the Steelers won their last SuperBowl in 1980, my brother and I ran out onto our porch and banged my mom's pots and pans together to celebrate. The night had just exploded into chaos. There were car horns blaring. Sirens sounding. Bells ringing. Just noise from all over Pittsburgh. But we were the only people out on their porches banging pans.
Later, the Steelers were about to face the Dolphins in the AFC Championship game. A teacher at school had the class draw posters to cheer on the Steelers. I remember starting to draw a bunch of big guys in Black & Gold stomping some dolphins into the ground, and starting out pretty tame. But as I went on, clubs appeared in the guy's hands. And spikes appeared on their boots. And then I added blood. And mutilated carcasses of dead dolphins. You could see, even back then, that my passion ran deep. Thankfully that was back in the days before they'd send you to therapy for drawing a picture like that...
I remember my dad, picking me up and flipping me in the air after the Steelers scored. I remember my Grandma watching when we'd visit. She couldn't follow the game really well, so any time she saw somebody running with the ball she'd yell "Get him! Get him!" It didn't matter if it was a Steeler or an opponent. Funny every time it happened.
Well, the Steelers are going to the SuperBowl yet again! And I'd be remiss not to do something to celebrate the occasion. So check the new banner! I know... it's goofy. But it's an idea that's popped into my head every year the Steelers are threatening to make it into the playoffs. Another week and a half until the big game! Man, I can't wait. GO STEELERS!!

He ain't heavy... Posted by: Bill Cable 02.01.06 12:01am The idea for this week's comic comes from my brother. He's a funny guy, sometimes. And I guess he's a fan of old Carpenter horror flicks. Flee in terror from this week's "The Cantina" Comic Strip!!!

State of the Union Posted by: Tresob Yr 02.01.06 12:01am Confused by all the political language of the Star Wars prequels? This week's comic explicates in plain English the complicated political allegories that George Lucas subtly buried within the script of Revenge of the Sith.
