Now for the winners...
#3
Princess of Whales: There is something about fat chicks in disguise...
I love them. I wish I would have had a camera to snap a shot
of this one ol' gal that was about 250 lbs. and crammed into
a scout trooper costume... but this one will have to do instead.
Congrats to Scott Cheatwood |
 |
#2
Howdey Sailer, I'm Darth Maul but you can call me ANYTIME!! All
I can say about this turd-burgler is that while I assumed there
was homosexuality in the Star Wars universe... he is my first
evidence of it. Not that there is anything wrong with that.
Congrats to Zac Weiler |
 |
#1
Zam FatAssel.... Like I said, I love fat chicks dressed as Star
Wars icons, it just feels so dirty :) If this bounty hunter was
after you chances are you would escape. Why? Well if you can
out run her she would probably stop for a sandwich... thus giving
you time to get away. And if she is a change-ling I DON'T WANNA
KNOW what she is changing into.
Congrats Mat Spera |

Jango Fett: A Final Thought Posted by: Dark Hybrid 5-29-02 12:01am AOTC SPOILERS!!!!
We all experienced the untimely
death of the galaxies most notorious bounty hunter, Jango Fett.
Little did we know, he left his legacy in more than just Boba
Fett. The personal memoirs of Mr. Fett were discovered in a closet
in his personal facility in Kamino. A virtual diary of personal
entries by Jango were discovered by Tew Yong, resident facility
housekeeper on Kamino. Jango spoke of Boba, his bounty hunting
ventures, and more. Here is an excerpt, so graciously provided
by Ms. Yong.
It's another rainy afternoon here in
Kamino. Who would have thunk it? An old walking liver spot wants
some mini me's for an army..puts me up in a lavish penthouse..and
has a couple of Roswell-type aliens take some strands. This is
not the life of a bounty hunter, which sometimes makes me wonder
if I should "get out of the game" entirely. I miss
the thrill of the hunt..the melodic hum of blaster shots..the
final gasp of air from my prey.
"Jango's reflections shown that he
had a heart..and feelings. These aren't characteristic of a bounty
hunter, you know?" says Count Dooku. "It seems as if
he was as wayward as I was as a young man."
"..bastard called ME a walking liver
spot..? At least I have a head." muttered Dooku as he walked
away.
Jango often spoke controversially of his
son, Boba. As you can see, the stress took it's toll on him over
time.
My dearest Boba. Living a lie. To live
his life being only known as an unaltered clone of myself. He
is never to know his true origin. I regret that one night. That
oh so..lonely night. I curse the day I met Zam Wesell. I DAMN
the fact that she could look so much like June Cleaver from Leave
it to Beaver. I could not resist..who could? But all is well,
Zam's dead..no worries I say. No more child support! She was
a gold digger from the start. Perhaps Boba will understand..someday.
"Fett always seemed a little, on edge",
says Sumyung Chikk of Tatooine. "He let his fear get to
him." Fear of what, we'll never know. Lastly, Fett's last
words.
Well, the big day is here. I guess 5
million lil' jangos is enough for ol' Dooky and Palpy. After
I go drop some bills on that secluded spot in Tatooine, it's
off to war I go. Dooku decided it's best I be there, to witness
the deaths of those punk kids Skywalker and Amidala. They remind
me of those kids from the Mickey Mouse Club..Timberlake and Spears?
How I will miss archived television transmissions of the past.
If nothing else, God bless Kamino for their television! Time
to close the deal. Wish me luck, diary. I'll be lucky if I make
it out with my head.
Sadly, Fett was decapitated at the hands
of Master Jedi, Mace Windu. Kaminoian Llama Su has plans to release
Jango's memoirs in a full length documentary DVD and Book entitled,
"Jango Fett: The Man, The Myth, The Mystery". Waldenbooks
has signed on as the exclusive carrier.

Thomas E. Newmaster is COOL!! Posted by: Bill Cable 5-29-02 12:01am So a bunch of my boys in PSWCS
attended the Wizard World East Con in Philly the weekend after
Celebration 2. Dontcha know that only one of them had the wherewithal
to take a camera and a "CreatureCantina.com Sucks!"
sign? And that one guy, Tom, decided to take a photo of the
one celebrity there who was scared to hold up the sign!! You
see, the celebrities aren't yet fully aware of the gag... so
this guy was afraid that if he held up a sign that says we suck
that we'd sue him (I think the exact quote was, "I've never
been there, how do I know they suck?"). So he only allowed
the photo after some... alterations. Makes for a great conversation
piece! Check out the WWE: Philly image on the Cantina
Celebrities Gallery!!!!

CreatureCantina STRIKES BACK!!! Posted by: Bill Cable 5-29-02 12:01am Last Friday I opened my E-mail
to discover a couple of tech support E-mails from my web host.
It turns out they received a complaint. I went to the homepage
and found one of the stories had been removed. Fortunately this
wasn't until Friday and everyone had a good chance to read the
purged article.
So who would complain? Who would attack
this quaint little site? Who would attempt to destroy our creativity...
our lives??? Believe it or not... it was SirSteve!!! He complained
because we posted a photo of him... something about a copyright
violation. You heard that right... SirSteve complained that
we stole an image from him. Let me repeat... SirSteve
complained that WE stole an image from
HIM!! Have you ever in you life heard of such
hypocrisy? This is a guy who built his site on stolen images,
and he busts on us from posting one stupid photo. And he didn't
even have the yarbles to address me directly... he sent a petition
to my friggin' web host! All over this silly little story I
wrote.
I was justifiably pissed. You can dismiss
me. You can mock me. You can ignore me. I won't give it a
second thought. But the minute you censor me, buddy... that's
when you're asking for it. So I did a little research, asked
my hosting company some questions, and got the answers I needed.
And you know what? I can't get in trouble for posting a link
to another site... even a link to a photo on another site. It's
fair use, since anything on the WWW is understood to be publicly
viewable. So I could link to the same exact photo anywhere else
and SirSteve can't do squat. I could like to his own original,
or I could link to it mirrored anywhere. Moral of the story...
be sure to know the game before you play the game.
So that's where we stand. The first order
of business is to review the article that was pulled last week...
just in case anyone missed it. So I'm inserting that below.
Next order of business? Well just you pay attention. We're
gonna have some fun with this. All over the place. I mean...
censoring ME??? Please...
So here's last week's story...

New Episode 2 Cable Original Art!!! Posted by: Bill Cable 5-29-02 12:01am Greetings art lovers! Several
weeks ago a guy named Kevin Ficek won our 1-year anniversary
contest, his prize being a Cable Original drawing. I asked him
to choose 5 characters he was interested in, and I chose from
that list. And wouldn't you know it... he's getting my first
character drawing from Episode 2!
I met Kevin at Celebration2 when he stopped
by the PSWCS booth in the Fan Club room. It was pretty cool
to actually meet a winner! He seemed like a nice guy, and enjoyed
looking through my portfolio. And when he received this last
week, he was very happy with the latest addition to that portfolio.
You can see it now in the "Cable Original"
Star Wars Art gallery!!!

Shellshocked Posted by: Bill Cable 6-5-02 12:01am Yes... I've done another comic.
It's been a long day... I pulled my neck, my router went down
at home so I lost broadband, my wife was at a conference so I
had to watch Julia all day (and she's quickly becoming quite
a handful), and now I'm at work. But through it all I STILL put
out a comic for you. Be sure to enjoy the damn thing... "The Cantina" Comic
Strip!!!!

"What deed he say?" Posted by: Dianoga 6-5-02 12:01am Talk about foreign languages...

can it???

Another New Cable Original Drawing!!! Posted by: Bill Cable 6-5-02 12:01am I know... you're thinking "This
man is a MACHINE!! Two drawings in two weeks???" Well, not
really. See,
I did the pencils on this drawing (click the thumbnail on the
right for a full-sized image). The guy who bought it - Gary Jirout
- wanted to do the inks. So I agreed to it with this one and
one other drawing. I don't think I'm ever going to do that again...
nothing against Gary's inks which are very nice... it's just
that I enjoy doing the inking so much that I wouldn't want to
miss another opportunity. For the finished, inked drawing, check
out the Cable Original Gallery!!!

Special Commemorative Figure Revealed!!! Posted by: Bill Cable 6-5-02 12:01am Forget your silly Jorg figures
and Celebration2 posters... they're destined to plummet in price
when compared to this beauty coming out! After 15 years out of
the bootlegging business, the people who brought you the UZAY
line of figures are back!!
Why would they get back into bootlegging
at this late stage, when Brazilian bootlegs are a dime a dozen?
Company Spokesman Ahkbahr states, "Sözlügümüzde
yaklasik 55,000 sözcük, 90,000 sözcük anlami
ve 30,000 kadar da kullanim örnegi vardir!!"
That's all well and good... but why start
out with a commemorative figure? Why not go straight for knock-offs
of production pieces?
So there you have it! After all he's done for the
collecting community, UZAY wishes to immortalize SirSteve in
plastic for everyone to worship. So without any further ado,
CreatureCantina.com is proud to present the official "Comenzo
Edition" of the vintage UZAY Emperor's Royal Guard...
Don't understand why this is funny? Read
all about it HERE!
- See "Steve Comenzo" pegged for
ripping off an innocent collector and refusing to refund her
money!
- See SirSteve REFUSE to reveal
his last name for fear of hackers!
- See SirSteve blame his cousin,
"Steve..." who lived in his house, shared his PO Box,
used the same phone line, and occasionally borrowed his E-mail
account!!

You don't know SirSteve if you haven't read
this thread!!

A comics to cleanse your pallet! Posted by: Bill Cable 6-12-02 12:01am After all the heavy stuff we've
piled on today, I'm sure you could use a light refresher to get
you ready for the rest of your day. Prepare for the sparkling
effervescence of this week's "The
Cantina" Comic Strip!!!

So Bill... what's your beef with SirSteve? Posted by: Bill Cable 6-12-02 12:01am You know, I get asked this question
a lot. And the answer is both simple and complicated. Honestly,
I'd like to figure out why so many of his forum denizens are
so blindly loyal. If you explore the history, that loyalty is
truly undeserved.
My history with SirSteve started back with
the UZAY Emperor's Royal Guard incident. You can read it all
at this
link which I posted a couple weeks back. It was upsetting
that Steve Comenzo lied about the condition of the figure he
sold then refused to refund the money... especially since the
person who was ripped off was a friend of mine. For that I might
decide never to buy from the guy, but I wouldn't hold a grudge
against him. But what else went on was far worse.
First of all... somebody figured out Steve
Comenzo was world-famous website admin "SirSteve."
People who independently purchased Star Wars items from Comenzo
(zoman@juno.com) and from SirSteve through his website both sent
money to the same PO Box in Florida. After some digging, it turned
out that Comenzo and SirSteve lived in the same apartment, shared
a phone line, and from time to time shared the same E-mail account.
Oh yeah... they're both named "Steve," too. After this
preponderance of evidence does SirSteve admit his real name?
Nooooooo... It turns out that Steve Comenzo is SirSteve's "cousin."
He just happens to live with him. But they're two completely
different people. SirSteve is free of any blame! Oh yeah, and
SirSteve CAN'T tell anyone HIS last name because hackers
are trying to break into his web site.
Now, let's forget the improbablilty that
there are two people names Steve living together in this apartment
in Florida and selling Star Wars items. The real proof here is
the way SirSteve changes his story from one day to the next.
His first response to the accusation was, "I AM NOT THIS
ZOMAN! ... Someone is out to get me and is doing quite a job
with this one! Right after this post I am going to get to the
bottom of it!" Get to the bottom of it?? Hello... I thought
Steve Comenzo was LIVING IN YOUR APARTMENT!!! Or did you just
forget that your cousin that lives with you, shares your phone
line (I think it was in his name), and shares your PO Box has
the name STEVE COMENZO???!!! Wouldn't the proper initial response
be "ZOMAN??? That's my cousin! The BASTARD!!" So when
SirSteve finally reveals to everyone that the real perp is his
live-in cousin, that excuse rings hollow.
So we came to the conclusion that SirSteve
not only ripped off people, he then made up lies to cover it
up. For YEARS SirSteve denied his own last name as a result of
this controversy. This despite a mountain of proof that he was
indeed Steve Comenzo. Hell, when I ran my first SirSteve photo
story, I had a guy E-mail me a scan of SirSteve's return address
label (from an item won from SirSteve's official "sirsteve@ssg.com"
account on eBay). He also ran a background check on him to confirm
his mailing address and phone number (among other things). Wanna
know what the return address label said? Take a look...
The case has been proven. There's no doubt
in anyone's mind that it was SirSteve who sold that mangled Emperor's
Royal Guard to that innocent collector, then refused to refund
her money. But to this day I still haven't seen SirSteve admit
to his crime, or offer an apology. I don't know... maybe it has
something to do with the associations the zoman@juno.com account
had to scalping newly-released POTF2 figures. Maybe he just can't
stand the fact that he'd been caught red-handed. But whatever
the case, you cannot receive forgiveness for a sin until you
take responsibility for it. So because of his complete lack of
regret for this misdeed, I hold a grudge against SirSteve. And
until he admits to this act of fraud and asks to be forgiven,
I will hold a grudge against SirSteve.
BTW, I still haven't seen any proof that
the $343 he got for the TF Vader went to any 9-11 charity. Have
you??

Hasbro Using Variations To Take Up Slack Posted by: Big_E 6-12-02 12:01am In a move that had fans of the
Hasbro Star Wars action figures happy, stores such as Wal-Mart,
Toys-R-Us and Target cut prices on the 3 3/4" action figures
for the release of Attack of the Clones. But, Hasbro seems to
be making up for that by releasing variations of its figures,
causing some collectors to buy two, three or even 4 versions
of the same figure.
For the last few years action figures were
priced from $6.88 to $6.99 at the big three retailers while prices
at K-Mart, Ames and KB Toys usually averaged $1 more. When the
release date of April 23rd came around prices were lowered by
$1 at most of these stores making them $5.88 to $5.99. Many collectors
were pleased with the price-cut, especially after Hasbro promised
a $1 decrease in price with the release of the Power of the Jedi
line, a cut that didn't translate into retail.
But with the release of the Attack of the
Clones figures on April 23rd, Hasbro seems to have found a way
to make up the slack - variations. The first 16 figures of the
new line were packaged with and without cardboard backdrops inside
the bubble. The backdrop was supposed to be in all figures but
according to Hasbro was dropped because it didn't look as good
as they had hoped. And that's just the tip of the iceberg; paint
errors, stickers on card backs, missing accessories, peg changes
in removable parts and even changes to packaging bubbles have
all been found in the line.
It seems as if Hasbro is making up their
dollar by releasing variations that are just interesting enough
to have people buy two of a figure. According to Hasbro, these
variations are just part of a complex production system, but
it's interesting that the number of variations seems to be so
much greater with this release than with past releases. Is it
a lack of quality control at the manufacturing plant or is this
a sneaky plot by executives to seemingly give fans a break while
putting the temptation out there for them to unwittingly spend
more money?

My very own pathetic eBay auctions!! Posted by: Bill Cable 6-12-02 12:01am Do you have any idea just how expensive
diapers and formula are? WELL I DO!! Luckily my wife and I both
have pretty good jobs, so we can afford them plus still have
a little extra spending money. We can go out to eat once a week...
just got a new truck. Man... my attempts at generating some sympathy
here are really going nowhere... damn I hate being such an honest
SOB... I coulda came here and claimed to be munching my last
cup of Ramen Noodles or something...
So I guess I'll just need to convince you
to bid on my auctions based on the quality of the products! And
man, do I have some good snake oil to schlep! Let's go with the
non-traditional "Best Stuff First" approach...
The best thing I'm auctioning is a 1981
Boba Fett Licensing Sheet. This is one of a lot of 40 that a
friend and I sniped on eBay about a year ago. It's one of the
actual pieces of paper that LucasFilm mailed to its Star Wars
licensees to be used as a reference for product design and promotion.
They'd mail out packets with a set of sheets to each licensee,
and the licensee would then use the images on the sheets to manufacture
stickers, clothing, Band-aids, Dixie Cups, bed sheets... basically
all that crap you could buy that made you feel like the coolest
kid on the block. Most of these would be trashed or even destroyed
in the manufacturing process. There's no way to know how many
survive to this day, but these 40 are the only ones anybody knows
of. And one of them just happens to be Boba Fett. Am I a lucky
dog or what??? This would be the centerpiece of any Boba Fett
Collection. Don't miss out!!
Next we have a few vintage rarities. I'm
auctioning both a ROTJ Vinyl Case and a Star Wars Action Display
Stand. The ROTJ case is the rarest of vintage figure cases...
they pop up on eBay very infrequently. They've come down in value
from their highs in the $150+ range, but they're still quite
valuable. The Action Display Stand was a mail-away item offered
on the original 12-backs. It comes with it's original, slightly-worn
backer card, PLUS a very minty 2nd backer direct from the Denny/Flarida
Proof Card Sale! This extra backer is beautiful, and was obtained
by Mr. Denny from the Kenner factory in Cincy. You won't find
a nicer example ANYWHERE!!
Lastly, I have 5 carded ROTJ figures. They
run from very nice to almost C10 flawless. The ROTJ R2-D2 Sensorscope
is nicest... CB, UP, gorgeous in every way. Only two minor flaws
keep it from being C10. Weequay is punched with a few minor flaws,
but has a clear, mint bubble. You never find Weequay with a CB!
The Rebel Commando is just a gorgeous display piece. Klaatu is
on a very minty Palitoy cardback, but the bubble has yellowed.
And Pruneface has some damage at the punch and a slightly yellowed
bubble. All would make FANTASTIC additions to your collection!!
None of the bids on these items are even
at the level of being respectable, yet. So I'm worried. I know
that just about everybody snipes, but I'd rather see these figures
closing in on market value rather than stalled at $3-$5! So go
place a few bids. It's nice crap... I promise! And that Fett
sheet... might be the only one you see on eBay... EVER! Don't
miss that opportunity!!!

Big E ain't the only guy that can do a Top 10! Posted by: Ric Nimrod 6-12-02 12:01am Nope... The Mighty Nimrod also

Want a T-shirt??? Posted by: Bill Cable 6-12-02 12:01am No? You don't want a T-shirt? How
about a really COOL T-shirt, like THIS ONE:
That's right, those crazy guys of Garrison
Carida of the Fighting 501st Legion want me to give them another
gratuitous plug. So they mailed me one of these cool shirts to
give away to my faithful readers. And when Jeff Romanoff mails
me a T-shirt, I know that I damn well better give it to somebody.
So here's the "contest" they
suggested... the shirt will go to the person who sends in the
best idea for a Stormtrooper-themed "The Cantina" Comic
Strip. Now a couple things you need to know about "The Cantina"
Comic strip...
- Every strip occurs in or just outside
the Cantina. So ideas for jokes in the Death Star won't fly.
- None of the main characters can die. (PS:
I don't consider Oznemoc to be a "main" character)
- "The Cantina" is roughly set
in the time just before R2 and 3PO crash on Tatooine. But time-line
inconsistencies aren't that big a deal. Just don't try throwing
a podracing Anakin in there.
So, if you have an idea and you want a
shirt, fill out the form below. If you don't have an idea but
you'd still like a shirt, give me your reasons for wanting a
shirt and I might just buckle under the pressure.
Entry deadline is Friday, June 22nd at
11:59pm. The winning comic idea will be published in the following
Wednesday's update (6/26). Thanks for entering!!
Here's that form for ya...

And now the obligatory comic strip Posted by: Bill Cable 6-19-02 12:01am Yep... that's all she wrote for
this week's update. All you have left is this comic strip. Make
the most of it! Savor this week's "The
Cantina" Comic Strip!!!!

Tusken Rights Group Sues Lucas Posted by: Big_E 6-19-02 12:01am Did George Lucas overstep his bounds
with the release of the newest Star Wars movie, "Attack
of the Clones," this past May? Activist group People for
the Ethical Treatment of Tuskens (PETT) think so. They have filed
a lawsuit against Lucas siting the graphic scenes where Anakin
Skywalker beheads several Tusken Raiders after the death of his
mother.
Spokespersons at Lucasfilm initially released
a statement dismissing the charges as "absurd" and
"money grubbing" but later, in a more detailed press
release, stated that they "would review any and all claims
against their film."
The uproar began on May 17th as thousands
of people flocked to theaters both nation wide and world wide
to see what has been billed as a "love story" set in
the Star Wars universe. Many patrons were shocked to see Anakin
Skywalker arrive at a Tusken Raider camp just in time for his
mother to die in his arms. At that point, although a lot was
left to the imagination, he stepped into the camp of Raiders
and beheaded two guards before slicing a third as the camera
cut away.
"I was so shocked by that. I mean,
Anakin is SO cute," said one teenage girl after the movie
at a theater in Binghamton, NY. "I mean, they like, killed
his mother and all, but like, couldn't he have just beat them
up or something?"
That sentiment was echoed in the offices
of PETT as phone calls started rolling in Friday afternoon.
"We had to add a Saturday and even
a Sunday shift to answer all the calls," noted foundation
volunteer Patty Espenshade. She continued, "People were
really upset. Here is this kid that only moments ago was making
out with his girlfriend and then he was brutally slicing up innocent
Tuskens. Didn't he realize that those barbaric moisture farmers
were encroaching on the homeland of the Tuskens? They are the
ones that should be punished."
Tusken Raiders, affectionately called Sand
People, have been a staple of the Star Wars universe since the
first installment of Lucas' opus debuted in 1977 with A New Hope.
They even added some humor to The Phantom Menace, the 1999 prequel
to Star Wars, by cheering during the Pod Race sequence.
Message boards around the Internet have
been buzzing with this discussion as well. Said one post by MagnoliaFan,
"I don't know what the *expletive deleted* these sissy *expletive
deleted* *expletive deleted*'s are talking about! He's *expletive
deleted* Darth Vader for *expletive deleted* sakes. He's the
true Prince of *expletive deleted* Darkness! Who the *expletive
deleted* is PETT anyway? What are they, more hippy tree huggers
from *expletive deleted* Ithaca or something? *expletive deleted*!"
According to one Lucasfilm insider who
didn't give his name, "What bullshit. This is just a freakin'
movie! There weren't even real people in those costumes. And
Tatooine isn't even a real place! Don't these people have anything
better to do like get digital projection into every theater?"
PETT representatives, in a statement to
the press, noted that "Tusken Raiders have been shown in
a very bad light. There's no wonder that George Lucas would feel
that it was okay to show the brutal murder of these peaceful,
nomadic people. But it has to stop. We want to see that scene
deleted immediately from all copies of the film. And we will
follow up to make sure that it is not placed back into the film
or included as extra footage on the DVD release."
Lucas is known for actively protecting
his licensed and trade marked property in the past and is sure
to fire back at these charges.
Said our Lucasfilm insider, "We're
prepared to offer them a deal on this matter. They should accept
it. And pray that we don't alter the deal further."

T-shirt contest foul-ups! Posted by: Bill Cable 6-19-02 12:01am Leave me to my own devices, and
I'm sure to bugger up whatever I'm attempting. Last week I announced
the start of our Garrison Carida T-shirt give-away. Wouldn't
you know it, I completely forgot to post links to their sites.
These guys give me a free shirt to plug their organization, and
I forget the damn links. I mean, they do all this charity work
and crap, and how do I thank them? I don't post links to their
sites. So, here's those links...
I think that's all the links I intended
to put in last week. I guess that'll make up for the goof-up.
All apologies aside, we STILL have a T-shirt
to give away!! It's an XL (take it or leave it... they only gave
me the one). The shirt goes to whoever submits the best idea
for a "The Cantina" comic strip involving Stormtroopers
(or Stormies, as Carida always calls them). A few notes about
"The Cantina" comic...
Entry deadline is Friday, June 22nd at
11:59pm. The winning comic idea will be published in the following
Wednesday's update (6/26). Thanks for entering!!

Lazy days of summer... Posted by: Bill Cable 6-19-02 12:01am Don't you just love the lazy days
of summer, when you can just kick back and do nothing. So does
the staff here at CreatureCantina.com. It seems like some of
the staff don't realize that SUMMER DOESN'T START UNTIL
FRIDAY, YOU INDOLENT BASTARDS!!
I hope you enjoy today's relatively
short update...

us, Willrow Hood will always be.."Ice Cream Maker Guy".
Hood's claim to fame was in Empire Strikes
Back, where he was forced to haul boogie out of Bespin. But,
forget women and children first, Willy's designation was apparently
"Ice Cream Maker" carrier. That unforgettable scene
has touched so many collectors in such a profound way, our very
own Scott P. aka OCB, of Rebelscum's BHC, has started a petition
to have Hood immortalized in plastic. Yes, with his ice cream

Scott has reached into every crevice, nook,

Who say CC.com sucks??? Posted by: Bill Cable 6-26-02 12:01am Why, CC says that CC.com sucks!!
The latest addition to our growing collection of celebrity photos
has nothing to do with Star Wars. But when a legend of 80's hair
metal gets a picture taken with your sign, you damn well better
post it! Especially when that rock star shares your site's initials!
Yeah, that's right... it's CC DeVille from Poison. In
all my years I never thought I'd be posting a photo of CC DeVille
holding a sign that says my web site sucks. Thanks to Nimrod
for snagging this gem!

Nimrod starts on a list kick!! Posted by: Ric Nimrod 6-26-02 12:01am Greetings loyal readers! The Mighty
Nimrod has begun a mission that's to span the next couple months.
The first installment was two weeks ago (nothing like a theme
that's retroactive!!). There are many more to come. Find out
what I'm talking about in this edition of "The
Mighty Nimrod Speaks!!!"

Finally..The Dark..has come BACK..to Creature..Cantiiiiiiiiiin-a! Posted by: Dark Hybrid 6-26-02 12:01am In my recent languid state, I took
notice that a slew of former SSG "forumites" have laid
claim to a new home, in Rebelscum.com's BHC. No lie..no funny
story..an honest to god wire burner! Yes! Call all your video
game buddies..girlfriends you don't have..and imaginary friends.
Sir Steve's site is LOSING members!
Seems as if SSG's "censorship committee"
has put their foot down to the point where the mere mention of
ol' Zo's name in any other reference than that of godlike, merits
a threads closure, the thread starters banishment, and a complete
deletion of that thread! Apparently tired of the facist regime
that is the SSG forums, these lost souls have found a home with
many of us at BHC.
In light of those members recent jump ship
fiasco, some of those particular members are actually being.."UN-BANNED"!
Is taking one for the team, and realizing the err of their ways
of banning, by re-inviting these posters back to the forum, a
quick way to save face and put out a "kinder, gentler"
SSG.com? Who's to say. But it seems as if these kids recent defection
has one website shakin' in their checkered, worn out Vans.
On behalf of me, Dark Hybrid, I welcome
all those who wish to help build Rebelscum.com and the BHC's
evergrowing fanbase. May we one day engulf "those other"
futile collecting websites. On a related note, be sure to visit
the newest sponsor on SSG.com, Bigbadtoystore.com. Where else
can you get a Final Battle: Jango Fett figure for less than BBTS's
$8.99 price tag aside from Wal Mart, K-Mart, TRU, Target, Kohls,
Mejers, or Costco?

Bill Cable Reviews AOTC in DIGITAL!! Posted by: Bill Cable 6-26-02 12:01am I was on the road for 8 hours on
Saturday. I drove to Elizabeth, New Jersey to see Attack of the
Clones in a digital projection theater. It was more than worth
it.
I saw 8 minutes of digital footage from
AOTC at Celebration2, and from that moment on I knew I had to
see the whole movie that way. The difference is just mind-numbing.
You see things in the digital presentation that you wouldn't
dream of seeing in a standard format movie, or even on a DVD.

Spear It and Seer It Posted by: Marblehead 6-26-02 12:01am Rocker Ted Nugent and wife Shemane
are currently penning and basting their follow-up to the successful
and highly acclaimed wild game cookbook, "Kill It and Grill
It." Riding the coat tales of the cinematic success of George
Lucas' latest installment to the ever popular "Star Wars"
saga with "Star Wars, Episode 2: Attack of the Clones",
the Nugent's will be focusing their bows and muskets on every
creature inside and outside the Star Wars universe.
Learn how to properly hunt and legally
kill wild game, and more, in an all Nuge style. The cookbook
will be jam packed with all sorts of tasty tid-bits and savory
meaty morsels. Delicious dishes for any occasion using any animal,
land, air or sea. Ewok Etouffee, Mynock and Cashew, Dewback-beef
Stew, Taun Taun Tortilla soup are only a few of the lip smacking
wild wonders "Terrible" Ted has Ted-tasted and Ted-approved.
Also included will be an easy to follow recipe on how to make
your own jerky with the spicy and zesty "Jawa Jerky."
Makes one's mouth water with anticipation.
"I've killed and grilled everything
imaginable from this planet Earth. The obvious next step was
to eliminate the barriers of gravity and conquer the thrill of
hunting in galaxies beyond. The Nuge tribe has been here procuring
our dinner by hand and each meal has, again, become a true ritual
balancing the reality of life and death. These meals are some
of the best we've beaten, enjoy the feast!" ~ Ted Nugent
Also look for the limited edition apron
for use when preparing these new found delicacies.

And we have... A WINNER!!! Posted by: Bill Cable 6-26-02 12:01am I received 14 entries for the Garrison Carida T-Shirt
give-away contest, but one rose above the rest! And none should
be surprised that it came from our most regular comic idea contributor...
congratulations Beedo Sookcool!!!
Now before any of you jealous 2nd-placers
get up in arms, I had NOTHING to do with the choice of winners!
I cut and pasted all the ideas into an E-mail and sent it to
my staff. That E-mail didn't contain ANY indication of who contributed
what. My staff chose Beedo not knowing who they were voting for.
And honestly, if I was fixing this thing, Beedo would be the
last guy I'd pick because I need to suck up the extra shipping
to send this thing across the Atlantic!!
Without further ado, I present the winning
entry in "The Cantina"
Comic Strip!!!

And finally... Does anyone know this kid??? Posted by: Bill Cable 7-3-02 12:01am As you may or may not know, PSWCS had a booth at Celebration2.
Well, somebody left their disposable 35mm camera on our table.
I took it home. The other night I burned off the rest of the
film, and I pick up the photos yesterday. Sadly, no amateur porn.
Just some shots of C2, a lot of them with this kid in it. So
if anyone recognizes this kid, LMK so I can send him the rest
of the photos.

Another... eBay... auction!! Posted by: Dianoga 7-3-02 12:01am The dianoga dredged up this tasty
eBay morsel. So are you a sad, sad little fanboy?

Another... stupid... comic!! Posted by: Bill Cable 7-3-02 12:01am I was sent this idea a few weeks
before AOTC came out, and I copied and pasted it into my "comic
ideas" text file w/o reading it to avoid the spoilers. Good
that I did, since this particular "spoiler" was plastered
all over the place! But hey... it's funny. And you can't bitch
too much when a member of the Fighting
501st sends you a comic strip idea! Enjoy this week's "The Cantina" Comic
Strip!!!

Another... Top 10 List... from Nimrod!!! Posted by: Ric Nimrod 7-3-02 12:01am The Mighty Nimrod continues his
series of Top 10 lists this week with 10 reasons why you should
see this one particular Sci-Fi movie this weekend over another
different Sci-Fi movie. Be compelled and enlightened by this
edition of "The Mighty
Nimrod Speaks!!!"

Another... C2... Celebrity Photo!! Posted by: Bill Cable 7-3-02 12:01am I've had this awesome photo for
a while, but delayed posting it. Not for legal reasons or anything...
it's just the image quality could be better. Matt Newman got
a picture taken with Billy D. at C2 near the CC.com Sucks! sign
(nobody could get him to actually hold one up). And I kept begging
Matt, "Please send me a high-rez scan!" I wanted to
crop it and tone it a bit. But alas Matt hasn't responded to
my E-mails... he's doing some college thing. So I'm using the
first one he sent. Don't get me wrong... it is nice... just not
as nice as I'd like (I'm picky).

Another.. New.. Cable Original Drawing!!! Posted by: Bill Cable 7-3-02 12:01am Yes, I'm at it again. This time
it's an original Trilogy favorite. This was one of those drawings
that's 90% rendering, 10% actual drawing. I'll blow the "Click
here to see who it is" secret and tell you straight-up that
this latest one is Luke Jedi. For this iconographic-type character,
I wanted to do something a little different... a little non-traditional.
I wanted to draw from martial arts sword fighting, rather than
the free-form style used by the Jedi. I did a ton of pencil renderings
to get the pose just right. It was a risky proposition, but I
think I nailed it. I hope you enjoy it... in the "Cable
Original" Star Wars Art Gallery!!!

And if the Leia Porn wasn't enough... Posted by: Bill Cable 7-10-02 12:01am How about we include a photo of
a Penthouse Pet??? After all, nothing will increase your traffic
like a nice set of boobies! Now Nimrod swears this lady is a
close, personal friend of his. I'm hoping he has a lot more close
personal friends like this... I'll post as many on this site
as he can come up with. So believe it or not, the latest addition
to the Cantina Celebrities
gallery is Penthouse Pet Tyler Reed!!

Comics are the joy of your life Posted by: Bill Cable 7-10-02 12:01am Yes... I have indeed posted this
week's comic strip. I love bringing little moments of joy to
so many lives. I just wish you ungrateful bastards would pony
up a little cash for the countless hours I pour into them!! Is
it too much to expect some sponsors to contact me?? We get good
hits! Honest!!! So where's the frickin' money???
Oh yeah... here's your damn "The
Cantina" Comic Strip!!!

eBayer succumbs to crack-induced delusions Posted by: Bill Cable 7-10-02 12:01am It's sad to see a once-respected
eBay seller sink so low... The hobby was stunned on Monday when
esteemed eBay seller "prosthion" left the realm of
reality and listed this item on eBay...
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem=1748438575
You saw that right, kids... $750 for HAN
HOTH!!! Han Hoth???? No offense to Chris Fawcett, but SEVEN HUNDRED
FIFTY DOLLARS for a CARDED HAN HOTH???? Production carded...
not a prototype or anything. Hey prosthion... does that come
with a TRIP TO DISNEYLAND or something?? Can I plant it in the
ground and in a few months harvest other nicer, more rare and
valuable carded figures? Does it play music? And what's this
crap about it being "C9.5 - C9.9??" Any competent collector
that looks at it can plainly see the cardback is warped. You
can't be "C9.9" unless the card lies flat. With that
warp I'd call AFA90 generous, but then AFA's grading criteria
are about as consistent as IRS tax codes.
So please prosthion, put down the crack
pipe and get some help. Stop listening to the strange little
voices in your head. Go to a clinic... clean yourself up... you'll
come back to your senses eventually.

Nimrod lays down his law! Posted by: Ric Nimrod 7-10-02 12:01am If the Mighty Nimrod were in charge
of things, there'd be a number of changes to the Star Wars Saga.
Since he is not, the best he can do is ask Uncle George nicely
to fix his mistake. See what they are in this week's Top Ten
list in "The Mighty Nimrod
Speaks!!" I'll bet you $1 that you can't guess what's
#1!!

ALDERAAN ROYAL SCANDAL!! Posted by: toasty 7-10-02 12:01am The next issue of "Playboy"
featuring photos of Princess Leia Organa wearing quite a bit
less than her Senate robes. Princess Leia denied the photos were
of her in a statement from the royal press agent. The issue doesn't
hit newsstands across the galaxy until next week. So why wait
that long? Our "Cantina spies" have managed to smuggle
some of the controversial photos! Bring on the lawsuits, and
see what only Luke Skywalker and Han Solo have managed to sneak
a peek at!

The RebelScum Juggernaut Rolls On!! Posted by: Bill Cable 7-10-02 12:01am Putting up nary a whiff of a fight
over its long-established turf, the Star Wars Collectors Archive
(www.toysrgus.com)
surrendered its vintage collecting forums to its chief rival
RebelScum.com.
This is just another small step in RebelScum's all-consuming
quest for complete Star Wars Internet consolidation.
In a public statement, a spokesman for
SWCA stated, "We're just creating a partnership to show
we support each other." But after the microphones were turned
off, the spokesman was overheard mumbling, "Dear God...
what have they done? Why did they have to destroy us? Why did
they have to destroy everything we've worked for for so long??
WWHHHYYYYYY????!!!!!"
Analysts predict that within 3 months RebelScum
will move to merge completely with toysrgus.com, creating the
subdomain http://old-crap.rebelscum.com.
This will be a wholly independent sub-site whose content will
become the permanent property of RebelScum with any additional
added content requiring the explicit permission of "Team
RebelScum" before any of it is published.
In addition, Gus Lopez will sign a contract
establishing himself as a full-time indentured servant to Phil
Wise.
"Team RebelScum" was unavailable
for comment on the forums merger and immanent take-over. However,
a CreatureCantina.com reporter who wishes to remain anonymous
swears that he overheard on RS staffer bellow in triumph, "Tonight
we take over ToysRGus. Tomorrow it's SirSteve. Then next week,
IT'S THE WORLD!!!!! HOOOHOOOHOoohooowhhaahahaha!!!"

Short Week Posted by: Bill Cable 7-17-02 12:01am OK people... everyone's entitled

Last and Least - a comic strip Posted by: Bill Cable 7-24-02 12:01am My mind is just too damn fried

Anakin and Amidala honeymoon video Posted by: Big_E 7-24-02 12:01am Holonet traffic has nearly tripled
after Sunday's release of a video nicknamed "making a Jedi."
What the video shows appears to be Anakin Skywalker and Senator
Padme Amidala on their honeymoon, consummating their marriage.
It has yet to be determined how the video
was made but rumor has it that Jango Fett, contracted to assassinate
Amidala, may have subcontracted the job to someone else besides
Zam Wesell and that person took the video. Sunday, in a chat
room someone calling herself BabeFett posted a link to the video.
Quickly the site was overrun with traffic and the video mirrored
around the Net.
Theory on the Net is that the poster may
be Aurra Sing. It's possible that Jango hired her knowing that
she was familiar with Skywalker, the Jedi Padawan assigned to
Amidala's security. Skywalker and Amidala traveled to Tatooine,
Sing's most recent base of operations, before being caught up
in the battle on Geonosia.
Some parts of the video are dark and grainy,
but the man in the video can clearly be heard saying the words
"force" and "saber" during the movie. A spokesperson
at the Jedi Temple had no comment. Supreme Chancellor Palpatine's
office, in a brief statement, would say only that Senator Amidala
is a very private person away from the Senate. Palpatine also
said in the statement that he "would be very happy if Padme
Amidala had found someone to share her life with." If the
Jedi Skywalker, whom Palpatine is known to be fond of, is that
person, sources say, he would be even happier.
Neither Skywalker or Amidala could be reached
for this article. Neither could Obi-Wan Kenobi, Skywalker's master.

The Mighty Nimrod asks for the IMPOSSIBLE! Posted by: Ric Nimrod 7-24-02 12:01am Uncle George has imagined some

Are you looking at my ASS?? Posted by: Marblehead 7-24-02 12:01am Well if you're not you damn well
